Hi there, ive just found this site and thank the lord i have. I have just booked a last minute trip with my ot and my 2 kids, 7 and 6 months. So now i need advice??? We will be staying at the santa fe.

Will i take her sterilising unit and use tablets,
Is there a kettle i could use
Will i use bottled water then sterilise or is the tap water ok.
Can u hire buggys for your entire stay or is it just dailly and how much.

Sorry for all the questions but i booked on a whim and now i decide to worry, lol:scared1:

I'd take unit given the age of your child.

You'll be able to get a kettle from reception and as far as buggy is concerned you can hire a stroller, although they are not great for one so young.

Hi and welcome to Dis boards.

I haven,t stayed at the Santa Fe but if there is no kettle in your room I am sure you can hire one from reception.

For a baby to be on the safe side we always used bottle water.

The buggies you can hire from the parks are not suitable for babies as they are designed a bit like a wheelchair so the child has to sit upright at all times. They are only available in the parks so could not take it back to your hotel.

Hope this helps a little

Hi!
If it was me I would definatly not use tap water to make the bottles up with. Its not worth the risk esp with your baby being only 6 months.
If you're taking a car then the bottled water won't be a prob to take (or you could just take the ready-made cartons). If not I've heard the cheapest place to buy bottled water at DLRP is from the garage at Santa Fe so thats handy for you. Otherwise you could get it from the Auchan hypermarche at val d'europe (1 stop by train)

To sterilise its probably easiest to use cold water tablets or buy the disposable pre-sterilised bottles if your baby doesn't mind dif shape teats.

I know some DLP hotels have kettles to hire but I don't know about Santa-Fe.
Likewise I don't know anything about the buggys except you're not allowed to take them out of the park so no use to get to the hotel.

My only other tip would be it'll be freezing so take plenty of warm layers inc thermals.
:) Have a great trip!

Hello new poster with the wonderful (and long) user name!!! :teeth: Welcome to the DIS

There's also a shop (possibly several) at the station that sells bottled water for less than at the hotel shop - might be handy for picking up some more on your way back to the hotel.

You can hire a kettle at the Cheyenne, so I'm sure they will also be available at the Santa Fe.

As well as the thermals I would recommend packing a hat for everyone too.

Hi littlemissaphrominni
Hiring a kettle shouldn't be a problem but I would stick to bottled water for the baby, just to be on the safe side, although the water is perfectly safe to drink.
Definately take your own buggy, unless you want to carry baby around after park closure. You can hire the buggies for the duration of your stay in which case they can leave the park, we tried to find out about it last time for my niece, from what we could gather you pay a fairly hefty deposit, what we couldn't then understand was whether we still had to pay a hire charge everyday or whether we would get the deposit back. Especially as another lady who was at the Buggy rental place had done this and was having problems we assumed in getting her deposit refunded, although I think the problem there was that she'd hired originally from the WDS Rental.
Unfortuntely the CM didn't speak very good English and our French is appalling so we resigned ourselves to hiring daily.
As previously mentioned though the buggies aren't really a suitable shape for such a young child.

If you have any more questions, just ask there'll be somebody on here who'll be able to help you out.:goodvibes

thank you all so much, i will def be using bottled water and will take my steriliser too. And layers of clothes lol. I will also take my own buggy. Any more tips please feel free, thanks again:)

When we hired a kettle at The Santa Fe in October we had a 30 euro deposit to pay which was refunded when we returned it.

Although it is lovely to get the official photos at the character greet points remember that you are not bound to purchase them. Castmembers will happily let you take your own photos as well :goodvibes

we are staying at the santa fe as ive previously mentioned. Im wondering if anyone else has been. thanks julie for your post on the kettle. Im wondering about the Fantasyland "Breakfast" in Disneyland Park one hour before official Park opening. It states this on the website but im unsure of details. Is this for 1 day does it cost ? Thanks

There isn't a charge for the GMF and you can have it as many days as you want, if you haven't already requested it, you can do so with the receptionist at check in or I believe some people have faxed a request through before their trip.
The standard is that of the Sequoia Lodge so higher than the Santa Fe, not that there is anything wrong with the Santa Fe breakfast, in fact I hadn't even noticed there was a difference. The main benefit is the ability to get on some of the more popular Fantasyland rides before the crowds hit the park.:)

Hi
I just read your thread with great interest i am in the same position as you i will be staying in March at the Cheyenne and my baby will also be 6 months!

I would love to know how you get on? We were going to go by eurostar and hire a buggy when we got there but after advice i took we are now going to go by our own car on the tunnel and then i have room to pack all the many things we need for the baby we also have a 8 & 6 year old so it should be fun:banana:

I have asked a question regarding taking a electric steriliser on another thread (I have never tried cold water method) so not sure what to do whilst there. Also have you booked a travel cot or are you taking your own the rooms look quite small i hope it will fit!

Anyway sorry i have been no help to you just thought as we were in the same boat i would introduce myself (hope you dont mind?)

Jin

:jumping3: no not at all:) im just new to this forum and the advice ive recieved so far has been great. I was wondering about a cot also. Because im going by plane my belongings r limited. It didnt let you input any of the infant details when i booked because she doesnt get charged but i think i will email disney to make sure there will be a cot available. About the sterilser im just going to take my microwavable steam steriliser and use it as a cold water one with tablets. Any more suggestions would be great. I will def let you know how we all get on. Im taking my 7 year old son too he cat wait:yay:
