Happy New Year everyone!! 
I'm hoping you all can help me solve my transportation headaches/issues, questions for our upcoming Dream cruise in June. Some information in case it's needed with the assistance
- We are flying down two days before the cruise and renting a car (first time at MCO) so we can take advantage of Kennedy Space Center and not stress about flying down the day of the cruise. We already have our hotel booked at the port prior to the cruise so the beginning is covered!
I was checking with SWA on some points we have from the prior Rapid Rewards program (before it changed in March) and we have some that will expire Jan 12, 2012 which is why I'm trying to get this all straightened out now. It makes a little more financial sense to buy some points in order to use those old points so they don't go to waste and convert them to a roundtrip ticket. The cost will be about $200 per person round trip which isn't bad. The issue is - it's based on availability with SWA and their rewards seats (remember old system) and the last day of the cruise or the day we would travel home, is booked for awards seats. If we bought the tickets it's $172 ONE WAY so that's nuts on that Sunday. So when I called SWA she suggested I fly home the next day since there were plenty of rewards seats open. It got me thinking - which is where I need your help.
I think we've decided to do this, but I need to act quickly as there were only a certain amount of seats to begin with going down. We have tentatively planned to get of the Dream on go to the French Quarter (or POP) and spend the day there and/or Downtown Disney and perhaps 'Ohana for dinner. Then fly home the next day. After the cruise, I'm assuming we can take Disney transportation back to the French Quarter, correct? I believe it's around $35 per person? I didn't know if it was "cheaper" to the resort instead of MCO? Second part - ME from the French Quarter to the airport. Since we are only staying one night, does it matter? Is ME automatically included back to the airport? I know goofy question but we've never gone there just for one night so I want to make sure this makes sense!
