I was wondering if anyone had any helpful advice for me. For our first anniversary, my husband & I went to WDW for the first time together last year (we had both been once before as kids). We had a great time-4 nights at the BC, 3 as the Fall Fantasy package. It was so great that I wanted to return this fall. We are currently booked for 1 night at GF and 3 nights-Fall Fantasy at the BCV (single night rooms weren't available for our 1st night at the BCV). My concern is that I want our trip to be really magical as we could both use some fun. I wanted to extend the trip, but at this point, that is not possible. Would staying all 4 nights at the GF be a better idea? We loved being so close to Epcot & MGM that we could walk everywhere--but would the atmosphere at the GF make it worth the monorails and buses? In other words, is there more/less Disney "magic/atmosphere" at the home away from home resorts as opposed to the hotels? How about booking a different sort of package- would that make everything seem more special (discovery magic, concierge level etc.)? How about some cool ideas on things to do (outside the parks) that you found fun/special/romantic?

Also, is there regular maid service during your stay at home away from home resorts (BCV)?

Any advice would be great! :)

Advice or opinion??

Well I'll give you my opinion if that's ok.

If I were in your shoes with my dh only I'd go for the BCV the whole trip (of course it that first nite is not available then keep the GF for the first nite). I'd love to try the BCV, they'll be brand spanking new and I just love the BWV so the BCV have to be pretty comparable. I know I'll probably get flack for this, but I never had a desire to stay at GF. I always thought it was over rated (don't flame me please, just stating my opinion:)

I found that when it was just dh and I we barely ever went to MK, mostly EPCOT and MGM (and of there's also AK now, but that would be bus from either resort).

I like staying in the EPCOT resort area (even with our dd), I like being able to walk to EPCOT & MGM and like the various restaurants and entertainment that is available within that walk away. I think it is DEFINITELY as magical to stay in the EPCOT/MGM area as it is in the MK area. WDW is all of those places, not just MK. the BWV & BCV Home away from Home resorts are right in the middle of the magic!

I can't answer your questions about the pkgs, don't know enough about them. But, I do recommend massages. GF does have a nice spa. BC has massages available. You can order flowers for your room from the WDW florist. We did those things for our honeymoon. You can do the boat cruises too, Illuminations has a nice one.

I do believe maid service is offerred at the Villas though, not sure if its every day or every other. You can probably post that on the DVC board to find out for sure.

Enjoy, whatever you decide to do:)

i would stay the entire time at BCV since you all enjoy epcot and mgm. if you are staying at the beach club villas on points as a dvc member then the maid service is limited. however, if you are a paying guest, then you should have maid service daily.:p

Are you staying in a 1 br or studio at BCV? The 1 bedroom has a jacuzzi tub that would be great for a couple!

It seems like the fall fantasy package is a pretty good deal :)

jwfla422, DisneyQueen, & Gillian,
Thanks for the opinions/advice--you made me remember why we had such a good time--the feeling at the BW/Epcot/MGM area. Thanks so much for reminding me--I'm just really bad at 2nd guessing myself. I was that person who always changed my test answers 3-4 times before I turned it in. :)

I especially like the ideas of the Illuminations cruise and the jacuzzi!! I will look into those.

Glad to hear about the maid service...I am such a slob at home, but for some reason, I love to have a clean/organized hotel room. Strange.

Gillian--the DC fall fantasy was a great deal (IMHO)--I even saved $200 over last years package.

Thanks again guys!
