I am going to Orlando on business with my family last week of March. Originally, I was going to stay at the convention at Universal Portifino Bay for 5 days then Disney's Carribean Beach for 5 days with AP discount. I heard such wonderful recommendations on this board about Wyndham Bonnet Creek (thank you). I think this might be a better choice, as I can drive to my business conference and my husband has more options of things to keep my 6 year old twins entertained, including Disney. I found a deal on ebay for $1157 for 9 nights 2 bedroom ($128.55 per night), so I am saving almost $900 in hotel accomodations. I think this rate sounds reasonable, considering it is the end of March/early April (spring break peak season).
My question - I currently have deposits holding my other two hotel reservations. At what point do you feel it is reasonable to cancel as my Bonnet Creek reservation is secure? The person I purchased from is an Ebay top seller. I paid through Paypal. She has emailed me a Wyndham reservation with a 6 digit confirmation number. Hard to determine if it originated from Wyndham or it was generated by her own computer. She emailed me that my name would be uploaded to the resort 15 days prior to check in. I have not yet received a guest certificate. This is my first time making this kind of reservation, so I am a little bit cautious.
Is there a way to contact Wyndham and confirm my reservation exists? I would like to cancel my other reservations, but don't want to before the coast is clear.
Thanks in advance! I am so looking forward to staying at Bonnet Creek. Thanks again to all of you DISers!
