Okay, So the dress I want is made by Maggie Sottero. Apparently NO ONE out here in Las Vegas carries the dress I want. I've been to all the boutiques and they all told me that they could take my measurements and order my dress but then EVERYONE I told this info to told me that I HAVE to try it on first and that I shouldn't order it untill I have tried it on. . . .any suggestions???:( Oh also this dress is all I can think of!! When I look at others I keep thinking this is THE ONE!!! :( WHAT DO I DO!?!?!

Being in Vegas, you're not too far of a drive from LA....could you take a quickie trip there sometime soon? Obviously you'd have to find out which (if any) store(s) have it ahead of time, but if anywhere on the west coast has it, LA's gotta have it!

Thanks Snow! I JUST printed out a list of all Maggie retailers in LA.

Cool...good luck with your search!!!!!! I haven't even started to look for my dress yet...yikes!

I recommend trying the dress on first. I liked so many dresses in the magazines and as soon as I saw them in the stores I realized it wasn't what I wanted. They look GREAT on the models but not on me.
Good Luck and have fun looking.

I would definitely recommend trying it on first. I also liked many dresses in magazines and when i tried them on, i ended up not liking it. I ended up ordering a Maggie dress that i just LOVE... I did go through some extra looking though because it was a good deal over my budget. I tried on at least 40 dresses and then found my way back to it.
If you can swing a trip somewhere, try some on. If not, try on some other Maggie dresses. I found that for the most part they fit similarly, but you may really not know if you will love the dress until you get to try it on your own body.

Good luck.

I also agree you need to try the dress on. I was hooked on one Maggie dress but when I tried it on it didn't look as good as other Maggies. I ended up with the Topaz by Maggie in all white. It is usually shown in a two tone so I always passed it up but one day I tried it on for the heck of it and loved it. So please, please go try your dress on, it might not look the same as you expect. Good luck!!!!
ps which dress are you wanting?? I know most maggies by name : ) hee hee

It's the Moulin Rouge:) And I can't stop thinking about it!!

That is a pretty dress. I also tried it on but did not like it on me. Please try it on before you pay out big bucks! It will be worth the trip you take.

Maggies are awesome!!!!!!! The Rowena is very pretty. When is your wedding?

I bought the Moulin Rouge!!!!!! I lOVE it. I do plan on selling it on ebay after the wedding though, since we aren't going to have children, I wouldn't ahve anyone to pass it down to. I absolutely love the dress though!! I found that you can fit in to 2 of the sizes. Just depends on how you want the corset back to look.

Good luck

That's so Great!! Do you have pics of you in the dress yet?? I would LOVE to see them! I've only seen the dress on the model. Not a real bride

I don't have any pics yet....my sis kept forgetting to take the camera at the fittings. I will post them as soon as I get them though! When are you getting married?

Those dresses are all beautiful!

From Vegas you can often book really cheap flights to LA or San Diego... That is what I did for my MOH and I. She was getting married 3 months after I was. We went from Phoenix to SD for a long day trip, and picked up a rental car. We hit 4 bridal shops, had a late lunch, wandered the mall for a bit and then flew home. She got her dress at a place that had Jessica McClintock dresses - paid just over $150 for it, and it was beautiful. I almost bought one, but decided the one at home was perfect for me and finally felt confident buying it. We also got her MOH dress, at Charlotte Russe for less than $50. And I know for a fact she has worn it again!!! Not everyone can say that. The trip, including lunch, cost about $150 for the two of us. My parents paid their own airfare and joined us, it was great. That was one of the best parts of the planning process.

I found most of the dress shops listed in the back of a wedding magazine, planned a map of those I wanted to hit, in order of how important they were to me and off we went.
