Need Advice for River of Light

So I make my Fastpass reservations tomorrow and I don't know what to do with River of Light. My original plan was to get a dining package at Tusker House. However, it looks like they have yet to release November's dining packages yet. So now I am starting to question if I want to get a Fastpass for it and waste one of my fastpasses.

We are going November 1-7th. There will just be 2 of us.

We are planning on doing Animal Kingdom the day after we arrive and then doing half a day another time on our trip (the second day depends on when we can get FOP fastpasses if at all). My original plan was to FP one avatar ride each day, the first day we are there I was going to get an Everest and Kali River Rapids FP. We would then rope drop the Safari and Dinosaur before going to Breakfast. However, now I am wondering if we should just not get a fastpass for the Rapids and get a ROL fastpass.

The second day we were going to fastpass the other avatar, Everest (it's our favorite ride), and Festival of Lion King.

Any advice on if I should just get a ROL Fastpass and cancel it if we can get the dining package or if I should just keep waiting for the November packages to be released and hope for the best? We have to do ROL the first day we go to Animal Kingdom due to other reservations. We can always change our AK day to the 4th because I can move HS to the day after we arrive. However, I was trying to avoid the parks on a Saturday and decided a half day at HS would be the best option on Saturday. (We are going to Rope Drop, do a Fan dining package at 12:15pm, then leave the park and relax and go to Disney Springs before returning for Fan)

Get a FP for RoL instead of the lion king. You don't need a FP for the lion king show. And if down the road you do want a FP for lion king, you can cancel your RoL FP if you do the dining package and grab a lion king FP

ROL FPs are not that hard to get. I got them for our group of 7 on the morning of. just did them one at a time and refreshed constantly. Rapids was a LOT harder.

The problem is, we can't do ROL on the second day because we will be seeing Happily Ever After that night or leaving to go home (haven't decided which day is our half day).
We can only see RoL on the day after we arrive.

We went to ROL last night without FP or dining package. Strolled in around 8:15 (8:45) and had no trouble finding a seat. Glad I didn't waste a FP.

We went to ROL in June with a FP; it wasn't needed. There was plenty of room for seating and some was still empty when the show began.

On our upcoming trip we waited for the ROL schedule to update, then when it finally did we were able to get a Dining package reservation at Tiffins. As we impatiently waited for that day, numerous times I was reassured that the the Dining Package reservations were separate so if nothing had been announced, we couldn't have been shut out yet. Worked for us.
