Hi All,

What room request(s) would you make if you were travelling with a 1-year-old?

We are taking our first trip to the Hilton Head resort to celebrate our son's first b-day and don't have a clue what to request in terms of room location. I can't imagine lugging a baby in a stroller along with the diaper bag, etc up and down stairs all day. Would we want to stay in the main lodge?

We are staying in a 2BR villa and would really appreciate any suggestions/recommendations. I have read over other posts about HH room requests but none seemed to address the young child convenience angle.

Thanks in advance for your help and thanks for reading this!

A room in the Lodge would alleviate dealing with the stairs. Even the first floor are up a flight of stairs because of hurricanes. I believe 2 bedroom units are available in the Lodge.

Have a great trip!

The Lodge (buildings 11 and 12) has only lock-off units. They won't usually reserve those as 2BR's except as needed for HC access. All of the dedicated 2BR villas are in buildings not served by elevators.

I'd just request a first floor room in a building near the Community Hall area. I don't think you'll find the stairs too much trouble.

Enjoy!

there might be 4 or 5 steps to get to your front door on a first floor unit. I would definitely request one of those.

I find the lodge really noisy.

I'd go for a room with a march view (Bldg.s 24, 22, 18). You will be spending extra time in your unit, and it's nice to be able to enjoy the deck/view during nap time etc.
