Need advice for first Disneyland trip

Hi All,

My family and I are from the east coast and will be flying into LAX later this month. While in town we're planning our first trip to Disneyland. Since we're spending most of our trip out of the greater LA area we figure we'll go to Disney either the day after we arrive, or the day before we leave. This means we can go on either on Wednesday the 20th, or on Sunday the 24th.

Should we expect a big difference in crowd size on a Wednesday vs a Sunday - especially considering it's after school is out? Because our flight is arriving somewhat late on Tuesday night we're prefer not to go on Wednesday, but we may decide to do so if the park is going to be crazy on Sunday.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

That specific Sunday is expected to be a nightmare as far as crowds go due to Carsland. Avoid it at all costs.

If you are only going to DL and not DCA, it may not be as bad....but it will be very, very crowded.

All bets are off based on previous park activity due to DCA and Cars Land specifically. Just that it will be busy...Sunday probably more so since the locals be hitting the parks.

I would go Wednesday. Start the trip off right If you go Sunday, you won't want to go home!

Brace yourself for record crowds either day. We just got back and I talked to CMs about the crowd levels and they are expecting record breaking numbers of people to descend on the park in June. The crowd levels are already higher than last year for this time and the new land/attractions isn't even open yet.

Be prepared for absolutely insane crowd levels and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like Wednesday will be the better bet. Is cars land in California Adventure? If so hopefully it will have less of an effect on the crowds in Disneyland (which is where we plan to head)
