ADR newbie here....my Sept/October trip coming up is the first trip where I've made ADRs and most I've figured out from these very helpful boards :goodvibes

One ADR I am concerned about is the night of Fantasmic. I have Kouzinna booked for 5 p.m. (their first dinner slot). Do you think this will give me time to get to an 8 p.m. Fantasmic? DH really wants to do Kouzinna as he is a big Cat Cora fan and our Hollywood Studios day is the day that the location works the best, but I have heard horror stories about the slow service. I thought 5 might work well since you aren't running into the waits from the people before you. Please let me know what you think! Not a lot at the studios for us, so all we want to do after our dinner reservation is go jump in line/get seated for the show. Not sure if this helps, but Easy WDW has Hollywood Studios as its most recommended park with a projected crowd level of 4.

Thanks so much in advance!!!

The general rule of thumb is to allot about 90 minutes for a sit down meal. Some run a bit longer (I've had dinners that average closer to two hours).

Do you eat fast?
Do you order appetizers, entrees, and/or desserts?
Are you planning to take the boat or walk back to DHS? The boat takes about 30 minutes, walking is about 1 mile.

You'd have about three hours to eat and get back to DHS. Personally, I wouldn't want to spend the meal looking at my watch, feeling worried about time. You can probably speed up the meal by ordering everything at once, asking for the check as soon as possible, etc.

Do you have to eat before the show? Would it be possible to eat after Fantasmic? Kouzinna is open until 10 pm, so you'd have time to get back before it closes. Last year, my family had a late ADR to Flying Fish and it was nice not having to worry about get back to DHS in time for Fantasmic.

Thank you for your help! We do eat pretty quickly and will just get entrees and possibly a dessert, we will try to order at the same time. I think I will try walking to the studios, we are fast walkers and can make better time back to the boat.

I looked at moving to a later time (after Fantasmic), but I plan to do EMH the next day so a late dinner and early morning would probably not turn out well. I will just make DH study the menu prior to leaving so he knows what he wants.

I'm very curious how this turned out for you because I was thinking of doing the same thing (5pm Kouzinna ressi, 8pm Fantasmic) for our September trip. Did you end up keeping your 5:00 reservation and did you make it to the show on time? Thanks!!
