How do you pet a penguin!? That'd be cool....
A couple things you want to do:
Feed the dolphins @ Dolphin Cove - it's a really cool experience. Make sure to pet them under the chin. There are feeding times throughout the day. Get in line a couple minutes before the stalls officially start selling food.
Underwater viewing of Dolphin Cove - Do not miss this! It's so cool to see the dolphins swimming around in the water, right next to the glass! The whole thing is really relaxing - right down to the music played!
Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island - Such a great show! A lot of humor, and a lot of funny tricks. Trust me, this show is not to be missed.
Some sort of Shamu show - no trip to seaworld is complete without seeing Shamu. So definitely get into one of the shows. I'm not sure if they still have the night show Shamu Rocks America, but if they do, I would go to that one because it's so cool! It has way more jumps and tricks than the day show, and all to great music!
Wild Arctic - The simulator ride is cool, I always enjoy going on it. And then afterwards, say hi to belugas, walruses, and polar bears! From above and below the waterline!
Journey to Atlantis - Great ride, I love it. Get on it for sure.
Kraken - Your 10 yr old might be too short for this, but if not, ride it! It's one of the best coasters I've been on. The line is never too long. For the best ride experience, ride in the back, trust me, you'll love it!
Penguin Encounter and Pacific Point Preserve - both cool. See Penguins and puffins on an indoor walk through, or see Seals and Sea lions at pacific point preserve. Not on the top of my list, but still cool.
There's also some really good pizza at this place in the waterfront. It's between sealion and otter stadium and the rest of the waterfront.
Hope that helps,
