Hello everyone :)

Since this is undoubtedly the best place for advice and awesome people, I am looking for advice.....

We normally fly to Disney, but we were considering driving this time. We live in upstate New York and it is about 24 hours total driving time. There is me, DH, DS (6) and DD (9) and possibly my father. My DH and I have driven it (before children...lol). Basically, our van just had to have the engine replaced which cost us 3400.00 total, it really set us back. Our trip is planned for January, and so we are considering driving. The airfare would end up costing us between $1000.00- $1200.00 total. So the idea is, is it worth it to pay extra to fly - we know it is quicker, but also more expensive...so we are trying to weigh out which is better. As we all know, whatever you save, you get to spend when you get there :) Please give me some advice, tell me what you all do and what you think. Also, do most people rent vehicles or bring their own...because the rental costs seem high and then it does seem worth it to just fly! Thanks so much. :)

Well, we usually fly from Kentucky as I hate long drives. That being said, I can certainly understand the cost issue and if that's what it took to get me to the world I'd do it. When I fly, I'm usually just paying for myself and maybe my granddaughter, once my adult daughter and that makes a difference. If I had to pay for a whole family, you can bet you'd find me behind the wheel blowing kisses to the truckdrivers along the way!

Just be careful in January as you're likely to run into some nasty weather along the way.
