Need advice Dolphin Excursion - bahamas

Need advice. We leave this week and are very exited on our first Disney Cruise. Actually first cruise for the kids. They are boys 12 and 9 and I'm taking them w/o hubby. They want to do the shallow excursion with the Dolphins not the full swim so I'm torn between Blue Lagoon and Atlantis. Hearing BL is better but it seems longer and they won't care much about going to the beach. Anyone do Atlantis? How's the ruins there at the dig and that one? For boys what is better Thanks

Blue Lagoon is a GREAT experience and while they technically allow you to take pictures, you cant really see anything with the way it is set up. I can't comment on the Atlantis one, I havnt done that one yet.

Honestly I would suggest this, this is what we did and saved like 50% on the excursion.

Book independently, do not go through Disney. That way you get off the ship in port, take a taxi (and there are taxis waiting for you at the port dock that charge $4/person anywhere on the island), and go to the Blue Lagoon company dock. They have a large boat/ferry that takes you to the island and are very helpful. After the dolphin experience, there is a ferry from the island that takes you back to the mainland and it drops you off at the same pier as the Disney ship is at!

As to saving money on the pictures, I would just get all the pictures/video on a thumb drive (they sell that). The thumb drive is locked to prevent you copying pictures/video but some basic computer skills can get you past that. Save a ton of money that way.

I don't understand what you mean about the thumb drive being locked. Isn't the point of buying the pictures to have the pictures? Ours was not locked and we were able to transfer them to our computer.

Locked as in it is designed so you can not transfer them, only view them. Maybe they changed that or maybe you got lucky, not sure.
