My family of four will be staying at the HRH Jan 18-22, and this is our first trip to Universal. I've seen the ONLINE ONLY specials where 2 adults and 2 kids can get in for 5 consecutive days for~$200, but those tickets expire in Dec. 2006. In the past has Universal posted similar specials for the January timeframe? Would I be better off to purchase the $99 per person tickets now (those are also 5 days/2 parks) with no "uses by" date? Just trying to decide if its too risky to wait a bit longer to purchase the tickets--I don't want to get stuck with only 2 day tickets.

We'll be there first week in January. I, too, am finding it difficult to locate any deals for dates past 12/31/2006. Let's hope they extend the 2parks/2days & free kids special. That would be a real deal!! :thumbsup2

I am also hoping that Universal offers the buy 2 days, get three days free and kids also during 2007. That would be incredible.

A quick question:
For our VERY tall 9 year old (57 inches, 90+ pounds) , would a photocopy of a birth certificate and photocopy of passport be sufficient? She looks at least 11 or 12 therefore, I assume we will get asked for some ID. In case I ever lost her ID at Universal, I would prefer to have just photocopies with us.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I read somewhere on the US/IOA site that anyone looking older or over the 52" mark needs to bring a birth certificate or passport for that child. I don't think it specified original or copy. I assume a copy would be sufficient, but for peace of mind you can always call. :sunny:

You probably won't get asked for ID, but it never hurts to have it just in case ;) ....as for tickets.....phamton will know....she is THE all know..... :worship:

They have been checking if the child is over 52 inches especially on the child's free tickets. A copy of a birth certificate or passpost is fine--- no need for the original.

Thanks so much everyone for the info. As I mentioned before, DD is VERY large (both tall and chubby) for her age and I wouldn't want to run into any difficulties with only photocopies of the originals.

NOW.....just hoping that the buy 2, get 2 free, plus kids free promotion will be offered again in 2007. :goodvibes

Where are they checking? If you already have your tickets, you can just enter the park.....(only reason I'm asking is cuz DS is tall for his age -55"- and nobody checked his height....altho, we DID already have our tickets.....and not to be :offtopic: , but considering how "close" he was to the height req. for Hulk and DD, someone only measured his height like 2 or 3 times the whole 5 days we were there! I thought he'd be measured everytime...but, i guess not? :confused3 Dorney park was really stingy w/ this...cuz he was SO close to that height!)

At the turnstiles, they have an inconspicuous measurement mark that the turnstile team members can see as you enter. If the child is taller than that mark, they may ask for proof of age.

aaahhhh haaaaa.....interesting....:scratchin .....now you know I'll have to be on the lookout and try to figure it out ;) Thanks....good to know! :thumbsup2

I checked the AAA site for tix. They have the same deal as US (2 days/2parks, kids free & 3 free days) for the same price. The AAA site does not mention any expiration date, so I e-mailed AAA and called US. US says that the 12/31/06 expiry we see is for the offer, not the tix. So we could buy the tix now and they don't expire. (I commented how confusing that was, she agreed and said marketing doesn't seem to be getting the message. :confused3 )

So, I called US a second time. (Just to verify.) Now he's saying you must activate the tix by 12/31/06, and then can use them after that date. He says that the AAA tix are the same, and need to be activated by NYE.

I'll post when I hear from AAA. :sunny:

Sooooo, the adult tix are valid whenever, BUT the child's tickets have to be used by the end of this year?? :confused3 Does this make sense?? Am I missing something?? :confused3

house or princesses: thank you for taking the time to share this info.

Bubba's mom: I just have to agree with you. That doesn't make much sense since children that age would obvioulsy not be going without their caregiver(s).

Perhaps Phantom could clarify the expiry date issues for this ticket type?

I know that the kids deal expires by Dec 31st....but does anyone know if the 2 parks for 1 (plus 3 extra free days) has any expiry ?
