Which resort better accomodates 5, 3 adults 2 children (2 parents, 18, 7, 4)?
We love epcot and MGM but also love the idea of a monorail resort. The prices are very similar for Oct 1-8 when we are going. Any advice?

I would say that if the 7 & 4 will share a queen bed, and the 18 can sleep on the day bed, assuming the 2 other adults share a queen...then either one would work well.

Both are beautiful resorts but our family of 5 always felt more comfortable at the Polynesian. The rooms are bigger and the extra floor space is great.

However, the bathrooms at the BC have the sinks outside of the tub room so if your 17 yo is a girl who needs lots of "mirror time" that might work better for your family.

BTW, Epcot is just about as easy to reach from the Polynesian as the BC. BC does have that short walk but at the Polynesian you take an even shorter walk to the TTC, ride the monorail (which we think is fun) and you're there.

Have a great time whichever you choose. :sunny:

I love the Beach club/Yacht club area, especially for older kids. We'll be making our third trip to YC this august. Our children (13,11,10) REQUEST the YC or BC because they love the pool, and the accessibility to the Boardwalk.
(I have even given them the option- 2 rooms in a value to moderate resort vs one room at the YC/BC - they always pick one room at the YC/BC!)
I think this area is alittle more "older kid" friendly. There are family sized bicycles for rent and lots of restaurants to eat at at this location. Also mini-golf is across the street and that goes over big in my family.
If you don't mind walking, we have walked to Epcot and to MGM from the YC.
Good luck. Have a great time.
:hourglass 48 more days and counting!

While either resort would be great, I think there is a slight advantage to the Polynesian. It has a few more square feet and we found that did make a difference with five in a room. Especially if you request the longhouses closer to the TTC (sorry, don't recall names), those rooms are even bigger. But we stayed at the Yacht Club with five, and that was fine too.

I stayed at the Poly last November and the BC in May. I think the rooms at the Poly may be a better fit for your family. We liked the spaciousness of the room and the small round table with two chairs for snacks. room service and watching TV. The BC room was nice - but the table is more of a desk so you couldn't really sit around it. I would have to say I liked the amenitites (pool etc) at the BC more... but both DH and I liked the actual room at the Poly more. (If you get one of the renovated rooms - you would be living!) Just an opinion - you can't go wrong with either resort.

Six of one, a half dozen of the other. Choose your resort based on the location, pool and amenities you want. You can easily make the square footage work.

I've never stayed at BC but I can speak about POLY. We stayed at POLY in October, DH, DS15, DS12, DS10 and myself. We had plenty of room and never felt crowded. Our boys took turns sleeping on the daybed. (Two shared the bed and one got the daybed and they switched places each night. :goodvibes ) We love the POLY for the ease and convenience of the monorail. And you can watch WISHES from the beach!

I've been to both and loved 'em both. You can't go wrong. Flip a coin and go with it.

I was torn between the two just like you. I ended up splitting my reservation. 3 nights at Polynesian & 4 nights at YC.
