After deciding NOT to use connections vouchers on our last trip, this time I signed up. Now I'm trying to decide how many VK and QC vouchers to order. On the lunch VK, I'm torn between Le'Cellier, Rainforest, and L'Originale Alfredo de Roma. I've printed all the menus from wdwig.com. Seems like L'C has a limited lunch menu. Italy's sounds good, but I've never read about anyone using the vouchers there. Has anyone ever gotten the Birthday cake on a voucher? I thought I would order a pizza for appetizer, (give to my DD) pasta sampler for me, and split the dessert. As far as RF, is there a limit on which entrees you order since it's the same menu for lunch and dinner? Or are you only limited to the time frame? If anyone has any experience at any of these rest. please share your thoughts.

L'C does have a somewhat limited menu at lunch, but we still did well there, I think our bill with tax & tip would have been 85.00 & we used two vouchers for payment... We will definitely do this again... the food was awesome...

Alfredo's we used one childs voucher, one adult voucher & our bill was 100.00 with tax & tip - the food however WASN'T very good & I wouldn't go back... we got the expensive appetizer for like 21.00, some onion soup (kids voucher gets an appetizer too), we ordered the pasta sampler with the adult voucher (we split it - it wasn't very good) & DS got a kid's pasta dish... then we got the dessert sampler for DH & I & one other kids dessert... we got the large bottle of water & one kids drink... I definitely didn't think this was a one hundred dollar meal at all...

We are doing the RFC this next trip, they don't limit your menu choices, except I don't believe they let you order the Volcano dessert (or whatever it's called, it serves 2-3).... RFC should be a very good value...

If I were you, I'd go with L'C or RFC... skip Alfredo's...

Sorry, I have only used the Q&C's so I can't help with the others (but I would like to know too :D).

From what I understand, though... you can RETURN any vouchers you don't use (within 90 days). We plan on ordering a few, and if we don't use... we will return.

Thanks for the advice and such quick responses. Personally, I like Olive Garden and thought Alfredo's sounded good. Now I don't know.
For the Q&C I was leaning toward the half chicken dinner at Cosmic Ray's and of course, B&C!
Also, for connections members, did you know, you have to be an active member when they credit your acct. for the gift cert. "rebate" on the reg Rest. and stuff? I didn't. I ordered today and was going to cancell by the end of the week. But now I'll have to wait and make sure I'm getting my 20% credit, first.

There's always a catch!

Again, thanks for the advice.

We like Olive Garden also (a lot), skip Alfredo's... I did know that in order to receive the 20% credit that we had to remain active members... To take the edge of the $80.00 membership fee, call to cancel & see what they offer you for keeping the membership... sometimes they offer gas cards or gift certificates or something... We've found it worthwhile to keep, but only because we have children & shop at Kids & Toys R Us, as well as KB kids, oh and not to forget about the GC's for Olive Garden & Red Lobster... We've saved our membership fee easily....

Actually, that's excatly what I've been thinking about. I only ordered a few GC for RL & OG because I was told on the phone they would expire in 2 or 3 months, so I might want to get more later. I have kids, too, but I feel even with 20% off the "R US" stores are too much. ( money and time, the closest is 50 miles away)
PS I see you are going for T-day. Me too! It's our first trip this time of year, thanks to our AP's. Where are you having T-day dinner?

Hi Cynjam,

About the Red Lobster & Olive Garden Gift cards, they NEVER expire, or if they do, it's more than 12 months out, that's a LAW... In Massachusetts, the law is 2 years from issue....

Anyways, this is our first Thankgiving also & we are VERY excited!! I think what we are going to do is cook our own dinner!! We have a 1 bedroom villa at the Boardwalk with full kitchen, so I think I'm going to stick with tradition & cook a home made dinner... it's actually not too much trouble & I'll enjoy preparing everything while the kids are at the pool or Community Hall... What are you doing for Turkey day??

DS wants a gameboy advance with assorted accessories, about 200.00 worth... Connections saved me 40.00 on just those things alone, so I feel for us, it's working out pretty good!

Nice to know about the GC. The ones we bought from RL directly didn't have any expir. date.
We stayed in a 1-bed villa about 4 years ago. They were so convenient. This time we're renting a 3-bedroom house off 192. There's so much more room and the price is a lot less. Of course, we made res. before EE return.
We have PS for 'Ohana's (not my first choice), but I may cancel. We will drive all night Wed. and arrive about noon, but we can't get into the house till 2pm. I know we'll all be tired and want a shower before we eat. We may just get a wal-mart deli warm over dinner. LOL
Are you going to MVMCP? We have tickets for 12-5.

CJ,

Did you have to drive the stake through my heart by mentioning MVMCP??? When we made our plane reservations back in April, I thought for sure they would have the first MVMCP the Friday after Thanksgiving... so, we made our reservations to fly back home for December 1st, the Sunday after Thanksgiving (yup, the first night of MVMCP... WAH!!!) So, as it stands we will miss MVMCP this year, I'm so sad... I am hoping to get bumped that Sunday afternoon & if we do, I will try to get tickets for that night at the gate!!!

Is there anyplace in Downtown Disney that offers Thanksgiving dinner? Maybe you could get a PS there?

Hi

I am thinking about getting connections vouchers. What is the difference between a VK voucher and a QC voucher? Is there a difference in costs? Thanks

I never thought about DD! Do you know what rest. they have? Isn't there a RFC there? Maybe I could use our vouchers then. I really didn't want to go to AK this trip anyway, not much holiday stuff going on.

suevee,
QC vouchers are Quick & Casual counter service meals and VK's are Vacation Kingdom vouchers for lunch only at sit down rest. QC's are $11 and VK's are $29.50 for adult. All the info is on Mary's site(Mousesavers.com), just type "connections" in the search box.

The RFC voucher is only good at AK... not DD

Bummer! I was afraid of that. Oh well, at least we won't have to walk to the back of AK to get to the RFC.

PS I found the list of rest. at DD.

Hi cynjam:wave:

The RFC is actually at the front of AK, and you don't need to be entering the park at all to eat at the restaurant.:D
