This Dec will be our first ever trip to Disney and trying to plan our meals. I was able to make our ADR’s yesterday with the exception of 50’s Prime Time on the 8th , completely booked the entire evening. We will be doing HS that day and would like to do dinner after we view the Osborn Family Lights @ 6pm. We are already doing Sci Fi for a lunch durring our visit and not crazy about Italian (so not to excited about mama Melrose) Any suggestions that would be easy to and fairly quick to get to? We are on the DDP and are looking for a 1TS meal. -Thanks

Hi! You could take the boat from DHS to the Boardwalk area. There are lots of restaurants in this area, at the Boardwalk Inn, the Yacht and Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin.

Some of the 1TS-type choices are Kouzzina, the Captain's Grille, Cape May Cafe Clambake, etc.

In DHS, Hollywood and Vine is an option. To be honest, it is not my favorite place.

In general, I am okay with Italian food, but I'd rather have something else. I was NOT excited AT ALL about Mama Melrose when I booked it as a last resort for a Fantasmic dining package, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. Yes, loved it!

If you catch the boat to the Boardwalk from DHS after viewing the Osbourne Lights, you have more dining options: Kouzzina, Cape May Seafood buffet at the Beach Club, ESPN Club, or Captain's Grille. I think that the Big River Grille and Brew Works is also on the DDP, but I don't think that they take reservations.

If I remember correctly, the boat ride takes about 15-20 minutes. It is very relaxing and especially beautiful at night.

The only issue would be getting back to your resort from the BoardWalk afterwards.

Not sure where you are staying or if you have a park hopper, but if you DO have a hopper and decide to eat in the Boardwalk area, you could walk into Epcot through the International Gateway and exit the front with the monorail and busses waiting. Might be nice if you finish dinner in time to catch Illuminations. Depending on the hours for DHS that evening you could also take the boat/walk back to DHS and catch a bus there.

Or, if you are me, you just go to the lobby of the Boardwalk, Yacht or Beach Club and catch a cab. :)

Awesome suggestions! We are staying at the Wilderness lodge and yes we have park hopper passes. Also, thinking about going back to WL and doing Whispering Canyon Cafe but not sure. I will check out some of the places to eat at the Boardwalk area. -Thanks

I would keep trying for Prime Time! I have to admit that is one of my favorite places to eat so I am a bit biased. I don't know if you made your ADRs online, but if you haven't, you should try that. You can pop on relatively easily and put in your desired date and time. It will also show you other times and locations available. Good luck!:goodvibes

Oh, you have park hoppers?

You could enjoy one of the World Showcase restaurants and then go through Epcot to the WL bus.

We've only tried Teppan Edo and Le Cellier in the WS and both were excellent.
