Need a room for one night, On-site or Off-site?

Hi everyone! We are driving to Disney in November and will arrive the night before we check in to our Disney Resort. We need a room for the night. I already tried adding a room onto our existing reservation but there wasn't anything available. We don't mind staying off-site for that night, but have no idea where to stay that isn't expensive and charges a fee for every little thing. However, I was thinking maybe just stay at a different Disney Resort Hotel that night since our resort isn't available. Does Disney allow you to stay just one night? Thanks for any info!

Will you be flying in? If your flight arrives late, staying near the airport or at the Hyatt some find convenient.

Off site (if you have a car) there are so many options. Many don't charge for parking or resort fees.

It just depends if flying or driving really, as to what is convenient.

We are driving. We just want to be close to Disney at least. Don't want to do a lot of driving that next day since we are driving all the way from NJ. We will probably arrive in the Disney area by about 7pm give or take. So basically just need a place to sleep. We know our Disney Resort won't be ready the next day until at least the afternoon, which is fine with us. We will be headed straight to the parks! Thanks!

As it would be just for one night, I'd pick most any value resort with easy in-out access via the parking lot so you can avoid the whole lobby thing. The All Stars, Pop, and Art of Animation have parking lots that are right near many rooms.

I'd also keep checking back with central reservations to see if a room opens up at the resort you will be heading to the next morning. There is a lot of time between now and then, so something may become available.

We drove once (arrived in Orlando at 1am, as we had planned on stopping but the kids were asleep by 8 so we just kept driving). We did the Doubletree Guest Suites for the night (called on the way there).

There are many decent places to stay for just the night. Maybe check www.mousesavers.com for deals. There is Buena Vista Suites (?) close by. Lots of choices.

You can drive to your Disney resort, check in, super early, get that situated, then go the the parks. If you don't want to leave your luggage in your car, they will hold it for you (allow a few extra minutes that morning to deal with that). So really it doesn't matter where you stay; just pick somewhere you're comfortable with.

I'd definitely go to your Disney resort to move your car, then you can relax.

Thanks! I will check other Value Resorts as well as the off-site hotels mentioned. We are staying at All Star Music. I am still crossing my fingers that something will open up so we don't have to change resorts at least. Lol!

We usually stay offsite the night before and have gotten lots of good deals using Priceline and Hotwire. There has been a lot of reports lately of people getting Disney Hotels at some great rates. They only negative about this is you kind of have to wait until close to time. People are reporting seeing value resorts for as low as $67. There has even been AKL for $150. If your willing to keep checking and do the leg work then you might be able to get a great deal. There is a Priceline Express Thread that could help you look at possible key words to check and see what it is before you book.

We stayed at the Townplace Suites in Flamingo Crossing (very close to Coronado Springs) and they don’t charge a resort fee or for parking. It was very nice! I think more hotels have opened up nearby. It’s right off 429 if you are coming in from the FL Turnpike.

I’ve also been lucky at snagging a room the day of by calling while we were driving.

We have stayed at the Springhill Suites which is next door to the Townplace Suites. Both are located at 429 (toll road) and The Western Way (back way into WDW). Springhill Suites also has no resort fee, free parking and a very good breakfast included.

Agree with the others here that Flamingo Crossing is probably your best bet for super close Disney access, but not technically on property (Disney owned land that they developed for external use after 429 went in as budget-conscious lodging, retail and apartment living).

They're great moderate hotels with no resort fees or parking charges.

Only negative about Flamingo Crossing is right now it's in its infancy and there's no food or gas immediately adjacent to the hotel.

Thank you! There is 4 of us. 2 adults, 2 children. I was hoping not to spend more than $100. For one night at a value on site it’s about $150. Other hotels in the area I look at are more than that once you add in all the taxes and fees.

Holiday weekend beside availability, makes the rate tougher and Friday night means a higher rate at all Disney hotels.
