I spoke with a guide yesterday afternoon and gave him the name of my referral. He said they have two promotions from which I could choose:

1. Cash discount (I'm assuming this means the $8 / $10 per point incentive)
2. Point-for-Point match (if I purchase 225 pts, they will give me another 225 pts one-time only to be used within the next 12 months)

I thought the current promotion for new members with an existing member referral is the cash discount as well as the 160 developer points when you purchase a minimum of 225 pts. Did I misunderstand or should I ask about this when I call him back later this week?

Also, if I request an April UY and it's granted, will I receive 2007 UY points in addition to the 160 developer points?

As long as the promotion is still active I would ask him since I was told by a guide that it was both several weeks ago.

You're welcome! It's a shame it isn't a "forever gift". Anyway, for the most part it's still a really good deal as you can either use the extra points to take a vacation and leave your other points intact for another visit, or rent them out to bring down the initial cost of your investment. Also, as mentioned previously, if you already have a Disney Visa and you buy fairly quick you can receive 500 bonus rewards.

Also remember...

The Developer's Points are virtually identical to standard DVC points with just a few minor differences.

1. Reservations can only be made 7 months from the check-out date using Developer's Points.
2. The points must be used within 12 months of their issuance.
3. They cannot be banked.
