Need a program to keep track of DVC points

I have the program DVCmanager by Fredericks and it has been working well. But since I have two use years with two different membership numbers for the same resort the program will not accomodate this situation. Does anyone know of a program out there that will assist in keeping track of points for trip planning, borrowing, banking, transferring, magic beginnings etc and of course different use years? My points are so confusing right. :confused3

For now, I use a checkbook program (MS Money) and just set up each contract, Use Year and/or resort as a separate account.

"Withdrawals" are used to make reservations and "Deposits" are used to accept annual point renewals. Banking/Borrowing are easily handled by notations with each transaction. I also verify the information with every contact with MS. The member site also has this information listed for every member.

You should also definitely download Caskbill's DVC Planner (just go to www.caskbill.com ) for his free program to remind us of banking deadlines, point charts and other features. In addition, his DVC Point Tracker is in Beta testing and is expected to be released soon. It includes all of the features you mentioned in your post - plus many others. A "sneak peek" is available on his site.

Enjoy!

I too have two use years for the same resort. Using the Fredericks program under membership number (step 1) I just typed the DVC telephone number (to make it easy to find). Under contracts # (step 2) I list my membership number(s) with the appropriate number of pts. My use years are Sept. and Oct. The program adds them together and treats them like they are all Sept. This is only a problem if I want to take a trip in September, which is not my normal time. Does that help?

I use a piece of paper and sort of keep a running tab. It ends up looking sort of like this:

200 points October 1, 2005
30 studio OKW Nov 1-7 conf# 1234567 s/w John
170
100 1BR BCV Jan 3-10 conf#987654 s/w Mary
70
70 2BR VWL april 4-8 conf # 24683579 s/w Susie
0

I have 2 contracts and I keep track of them both the same way.

I think there is someone on the DIS who has created a program for tracking points, but I forget who.

If I dont have some sort of program to help me I will have my points all screwed up. Believe I have had them totally off severeal times. Fredericks was great until I ended up with two different membership numbers for the same resort. I am hoping Caskbill will be up and running soon.

Have you tried the DVC member website?

I use an Excel spreadsheet.

Each Use Year is in a different color. When I bank or borrow, the points get moved to the new year, but in the old color so I know what they are and when they have to be used.

Columns are

Date of Transaction
Booking Dates (nights of stay)
Three columns for BWV points
Three columns for BCV points
(Current year pts, banked, borrowed - you could do membership numbers instead)
Total used for stay
Ressie #
The columns foot and cross foot

As for tracking each contact - I don't bother anymore as DVC has all the info I need on the website.

Each time I call MS, I confirm we have the same info.

Has worked just fine for me for 7 years. I don't need anything else!

Yes I have. I have had to use it recently to adjust my own accounting.

This might work for me!

I have a beta copy of Caskbill's point tracking program. (It helps to be related to the author!) It's great, and does everything I need to do. With 10 contracts at 7 resorts, it sure makes keeping track of everything easy. Hopefully, it will be released before too long.

Glad to hear it! I am keeping my fingers crossed.
