We have a reservation at Buena Vista Suites for this weekend but are looking for another option. We are looking for a suite for less than $100/night that is the same quality or better than Buena Vista Suites. Any thoughts/opinions are welcomed!!!

a suite for less that is that close to WDW. No.

the suites at Disney will definitely be more - alot more.

Embassy suites might be worth a try.

if you will accept a timeshares then try

www.skyauction.com

remember to add the $195 + $15 for your week. If you are luck you can get one for $211. some are closer - Cypress Pointe (DD) and Silver Lake (AK) but don't have the activities of say the Marriott, HGCV, or the Sheraton Vistana

Another option outside of a hotel is a vacation condo or home rental. We chose one for our next trip because we have two pre-teens (a boy and girl). They are very much into having their own space. We adults (DH and I) would also like our own bedroom. We were able to rent a 3 BR condo with a full kitchen, 1 1/2 miles from the Disney entrance, resort style pool and clubhouse and free use of the washer and dryer for under $100 per night (plus tax) in January. This will save us a ton in food bills and sanity! We found it at www.vrbo.com. We rented in Windsor Hills, but there are several places available. The best part is NO TIMESHARE hounds.

you know Pooh

when I use skyauction - I am generally not bothered by the sales people.

when I use a straight RCI exchange I am always bothered by the sales people.

We stayed at the Homewood suites by Hilton on Parkway Blvd. Just about 5-7 minutes from Disney. Go to Hilton website and click dates, all resorts, and best codes. We got it this past April-May for 79.00/night.

You can check Skyauction or allearsnet for discounts at Sherton Vistana Resort located on 535. (@ 1-2 mi from Downtown Disney). We just returned from there and got a 2 bed/2 bath, full kitchen, living room w/pullout, screened in porch, dining room, washer/dryer for $109night. We used allearsnet discount and booked through Sheraton directly. I have seen some people getting it on skyauction much cheaper though... :dog:

We got a good deal on Cypress Point Grand Villas a few years ago through HotelKingdom.com.

I second Cypress Pointe. We paid under $100 last Feb. for a three bedroom. Plus it had a full kitchen.

Thanks for the help! We are going to give the Comfort Suites Maingate East a try.

Check the fountains. I got a two room villa that sleeps 6 for $79.00 a night. I couldn't find a bad review on the place. I went through Travelzoo , but you can go straight through their website. I think it's bluegreen rentals.

That's where we were going to stay and we are a family of 6. The research I did on it all seemed to have good reviews and it did have a refrig and microwave in the room. Free breakfast too. Hope it works out for you!

Here is how our stay was...(thanks for the nudge Pamela)

We made a last minute reservation for a last minute trip and didn't have time to do much research. We have stayed at Buena Vista Suites before as well as the value resorts so that is my basis for comparison.

We like the value resorts because of all that is Disney. We liked BVS because with a family of 6 we could stay in one room, it was clean, it was close to Disney and the price was right. As for Comfort Suites Maingate East, we liked it better than BVS. CSME scores better than BVS in the following areas...a little cleaner, nicer pool & cost. BSV scores better than CSME in the following areas...central air vs window units, the living room is not seperated from the bedroom & better breakfast.

Here are the costs before taxes that we were chosing from...
Value resort(2 rooms) $198/night
BVS $89/night(Th&F) $139/night Sat
CSME $69/night

We said that we would stay at CSME again so I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks GaTech...... ;) I can't help it..........I love hearing reviews! :teeth:

WOW!! YOu saved a lot of money over the Disney resort! Did you find it difficult though with only one bathroom? We are a family of 5 and we need two bathrooms. lol  But we have an almost 13, 10 and 6 yr. old. That probably makes a difference.

Glad you had a great time and thanks again for the review. :wave2:

No bathroom problems. Our kids are 8, 3, and 1 yr old twins. At Buena Vista Suites, the sink area was seperate from the toilet/shower, that might help you.
