I bought a T-Fal Ultraglide iron for around $40 11 years ago. I loved it and it was a great iron. The cord seems to have a short in it, so time to replace it.

What are some faves in the $35-$50 price range with longevity? Any deals going on now in stores or online?

I've heard a lot of good things about the Rowena brand. Any experiences?

I love my Rowena. I'm on my second one, the first I dropped on the tile floor and it broke, it was 7 years old.

Love, love, love my Rowenta iron. They are $60 and up, but they literally glide over the fabric and the steam action is amazing. If you regularly iron then one time with a Rowenta and you will be amazed.

I have a Rowenta and love it. Mine is a refurbished model that is over 10 years old and actually used on a regular basis. :rotfl2: I bought mine at Value City, but I don't think they are in business anymore. I've also seen the refurbished models at Tuesday Morning and Marshalls. I think I paid around $50 for mine, but the regular retail is higher.

After 40 years, only great wrinkle remover and true great iron, my Rowenta too. Cuts ironing in half and looks twice as nice. Especially for good creases.

Check Boscovs.com for frequent sales with extras.
Oh, then only complaint, 1999, I bought one and the cord would heat up so much it melted. They had a recall and delt with the problem, but I always freak out feeling the cord anyway.

I love my new Rowenta. I got it at Costco (last month?) and it was not cheap. It was a little clunky to move around at first because it is bigger than my old iron, but WOW does it glide and steam to perfection.
