Need a new Iron - any suggestions?

My iron is on its last leg so to speak, I need a new one but I don't want to break the bank.

I need something that will stand up to daily use. I iron everyday and since I retired have have been sewing so I need something with steam and good settings.

Suggestion Please..

I'm interested too! (Although, I did discover the the Magic Eraser cleans mine up pretty good!) My boys have knocked mine off the ironing board just a couple of times too many and if I fill it too much...it leaks.

Rowenta is a great one, I'm on my second (first one dropped on tile floor but lasted 12 or more yrs). I have the one with the cord rewind in the base. I bought it last month and it was on sale at Bed Bath & Beyond plus I had a 20% off coupon.

Rowenta irons are awesome. Look for one that was made in Germany. They are supposed to be the best. I got mine at Kohl's with a 30% coupon and Kohls cash, so I paid about $70.

If you have a Joann Fabrics store near you you can snag a really good deal on Rowentas. They release 40%/50% off coupons every week, wait until a 50% comes out and use it towards a new iron! I love my Rowenta.

Last iron I purchased was a 19.99 Black and Decker at either Sears or Macy's - not sure. I am sure it was 19.99! I hang up all my clothing and iron very very little. Can't remember the last thing I ironed!

Maybe I'll iron in retirement also. <g>

I got my Rowenta from Big Lots. $30. I'd check there if you have one nearby.

Another vote for the Rowenta Iron. Mine's the Rowenta Perfect - about 6 years old and works like a champ. IIRC I spent about $90.00.
