our dryer just died. not surprising, its pretty old. unfortunately we have a full load of wet clothes now...bummer.

so we need to go dryer shopping. any favorites?

We just bought a new washer/dryer about 6 months ago. We got a Kenmore, so far so good!

Our dryer died about a year ago and we bought a Maytag Neptune. Love, love, love it! It has a sensor dry so it knows when things are dries and turns itself off then. Other people that have used it when doing things for me have also said they really liked it.

We bought a Whirlpool about 2 years ago. Have had no problems with it, except the one I called the repair man for while under warranty. The dryer was making an awful noise. The repair man came out, took the dryer part and pulled out a wire of some sort. I blame my DH and sent the repair man on his way. I looked at the wire again, and realized that it was the wire out of one of my underwire bras!! I wondered what had happened to that. I was quite happy I didn't figure out what the wire was until after the repair man went away!!

MY Maytag washer and dryer are 21 yrs old this month, it was moved from my first house to where i am now and if, oops, I mean when they die I will buy Maytag again :D

I JUST got my new Maytag Atlantis two weeks ago! This follows my purchase of a Maytag Atlantis matching washer six months ago. It's sort of silly to be so excited over a dryer, but I am!! Like a previous poster said, this model also knows when your clothes are dry - it's way cool! I guess I had my old miss-matched washer/dryer a little too long (not as long as GailT, mine were 14 and 15 respectively). Anyway, have fun shopping...I still love to just go in the laundry room and LOOK at them!:Pinkbounc

I have a Maytag...not the Atlantis, but the simpler version of a dryer. I am quite happy with it. It's been almost 13 years, and we've had no problem.

My husband wants us to get that new one with the drying closet in it. Has anyone bought that one?

If money was no object, I would definitely get the Maytag Neptune drying center with the hangdry/flat dry areas in it. It's gotten really good reviews by consumer magazines...unfortunately, I don't have a spare 1200 bucks around!
