Need a new digital camera

Right now we have a Kodak DX6340 & Nikon Cool Pix or whatever it's called. I don't particularly like the Nikon. The Kodak is good, but we've taken over 8,000 pics already and it's starting to lose it's goodness. We've always been Kodak lovers, but we're thinking it's maybe time to switch.

We're going on a DCL cruise next month and NEED a new camera. Looking to spend about $200 give or take a few bucks.

Any suggestions out there?

Oh and btw...my DH is completely against refurbs...arg

How about the Canon Powershot A610? I have the A620, which basically is the same camera (couple more megapixels), and I really like it. It gets good reviews, The A610 seems to run around $225 online.

I just bougth the A620 and so far I am very happy. Great photos, really easy to use, plus a lot of manual controls.

Got it online from butterflyphoto for 'cheap'. I think with shipping it came in at just over $290, which is way cheaper than any place locally I could have picked it up (by at least $50).

Thanks. I hope that is a good thing. Again, I love my Pentex but it's time for something new. DD & DH are fighting over my old one.

I promised to get DH a new camera for his birthday anyway. The other one will be good for DD. She loves to take pictures and I hate spending money on developing film since their never in focus, cut heads, etc...

Now we can print out only her good ones. Still can't wait till mine arrives...
