Need a new cat litter

We use Dr. Elsey's Ultra Cat Litter. It is a little more expensive, but it clumps great, isn't excessively dusty (I don't believe that a dust-free litter exists) and because it clumps well lasts longer. We also use it in a Litter Robot. I found a great source of information that has really helped me understand my cats a little better....check out catinfo.org - we ended up changing our cats food and litter based on the information I found there. (Which I also researched elsewhere for confirmation)

I second Dr. Elsey. There is very little dust and no scent. I highly recommend this brand and found there is nothing else on the market better than this product.

I also like using Tidy Cat and our cat seems to enjoy that one best as well. We are currently trying Fresh Step and I agree, it's just not as good.

A friend of mine used the pine one and I was gagging when near it. It smelled so bad.

I tried the Tidy Cat crystals (no clay) type one time and it also smelled to high heaven and our cat ended up going to the bathroom NOT in the box which is highly unusual for her and she went to the box when we put back the normal Tidy Cats litter in it.

Has anyone found a scoopable litter with less dust/tracking issues?

The best thing we've found for odor control is Arm & Hammer Cat Litter Deoderizer. It's not cat litter - it's a powder that you sprinkle over the kitty litter. Really makes a difference - even in a "crazy cat people" house. :)

We used to like Arm and Hammer but it wasn't keeping the odor down as well. We are using Tidy Cat but it is so dusty.

Darn, I came to this thread hoping to find a new, less-dust scoopable kitty litter. :( Right now, I have the Tidy Cats Multiple. Works great on smells - when she covers. But, dust all over the place.

I do use the Tidy Cats deodorizing powder. But, not enough for Kitty to be tracking it all over the place.

We use Tidy Cat for multiple cats with good results.

us too, no smells.
:thumbsup2

You need another box. Our hospital recommends 1 box for each cat. Some cats are weird about their boxes. The fact the cat is going near the box means it 'wants' to use it, but something is keeping it out.

Yes, my cat started going next to the box. As an experiment, I added an extra box where she was going. That turned out to be the solution. One cat, two boxes, side by side. She likes to alternate boxes. It does keep the smell down. Now if I could just figure out a solution to the dust.
