We're planning to visit Orlando for two weeks, arriving 11/20 and departing 12/4. Our stay is split between a Marriott timehsare for the first week and DVC the next. However, we had thought about staying a few nights at a US hotel and get FOTL privileges. Here are my questions:

1. Will FOTL be necessary during this time period, or only for Thanksgiving day and weekend?

2. When would be the best time to plan to visit US and IOA? Do you think it will be busy the weekend before Thanksgiving and the days preceding Thanksgiving?

Thanks for your input!:D

days leading up to Thanksgiving are generally better than after Thanksgiving, however, I heard the day before Thanksgiving was pretty busy. I went on Thanksgiving Day, and although there were some crowds, it wasn't excessive. It was actually quite pleasant!! I would definitely go to Universal on Thanksgiving Day, especially to see some shows. Last Thanksgiving, the Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue made reference to the holiday during their show. :)

If you go around Thanksgiving, you'll probably want FOTL...it definitely wouldn't hurt!!

Thanks for the feedback, Flyfly_Eclipse. I'm still undecided on what to do. If I'm able to find some good rates on the hotels, I may stay to get FOTL. I don't think we'll be visiting a park on Thanksgiving day as we're visiting relatives in Tampa.

Do you happen to know when US/IOA decorates for Christmas?

Christmas decorations start going up around mid-November and Grinchmas usually starts around Thanksgiving.

There is nothing quite like staying onsite at Universal. It's wonderful! I hope you can find some good rates! :D Remember, even if you only stay onsite for one night, you will still have 2 days of FOTL access.

hope you guys dont mind if i post a question here.
We are from Oklahoma and was wondering what kind of weather to expect in Nov.?Should we bring shorts, pants, wind pants?
any suggestions to this issue? We are staying onsite at RPR.
Thanks for your suggestions.

dpayne1969...the weather could be variable. We usually have our winter coats and pants/jeans from the plane ride down, and try to pack at least one sweatshirt and pair of sweat pants. Layering is a great way to keep warm and versatile.

AllieKat...that's a good point you make with only needing one night's reservations for two days worth of FOTL. Yet another scenario for me to consider!!!;) Thanks!
