During last October vist to the MK, we visited DVC and I was pretty much lets do it. My rational wife pointed out that going to Disney once a year would not be here idea of relazing. I tended to agree and that's was the end of that. Well fast forward to last west to our annual ski trip. WE were at a Club Intrawest property and decided to do some comparisons. We even liked house that said that they patterned after Disney and we could access DVC. S long story shot we buy and I genrally like the program and such.

MY gripe is I'm finding resellars on-line for $5000 less thaN I payed. We did get a bonus trip but that a one time deal. I could pay the same money to a reseller and double my points. Does anyone know if these online sellers are ligite. ANy not happy with thier Club Intrawest.

Some of this is buyer remorse but unlike DVC you decide then not later.I have 8 days left to change my mind. :confused3

Thanks in advance for any assistence.

BUMPING

just bumping this up for you. You need answers now

Where's DEAN?

I know that Interval INternational can access DVC but I don't know about Club Interwest. Most any Timeshares can be bought resale much cheaper then new.

Keep trying to get answer from these boards. Good luck

It is not uncommon to find timeshares available on the resale market that are thousands less in price than the same property purchased from the developer.

My advice to you is to go over to www.tug2.net and post your question there - lots of experienced timeshare owners frequent that forum and you will find opinions and information on specific properties and resale brokers. You may have to pay a fee (maybe $15?), but IMHO, it will be well worth it.

Best wishes -

There are few instances where buying retail makes sense. DVC can be one and there may be other special situations. It's been a couple of years since I looked at CI. But if my memory serves me correctly, CI does not have a home resort priority. That means that every member in the system is theoretically shooting for Whistler during ski season and HI during Xmas and summer. I assume you're too far out to cancel your sale. If so, learn the system and make the most out of it.

And buying privately, ebay, resale agency, etc can be a great deal but you need to know what you're getting. That may mean calling the resort to check out that what you think you're getting is indeed what you are. And for a system like CI, can you combine your memberships into one? and are there any benefits to doing so. Frankly, my impression is you don't know enough about CI or timeshares in general to buy anything else. And while CI can theoretically trade to DVC directly, there are costs and limitations in doing so that may make it an unreasonable choice. I know things would have to change a lot in the way things are done and the costs involved before I'd use the CI or Club Cordial systems as they are currently set up. Or else I'd have to be in a use or lose scenario with points.

I'll second TUG. The price is $15 for year one and $10 thereafter with a free ad for each year you pay for, a $10 value.

edited to add: I do have a packet on CI her on my shelf. I had a internet friend who owns Marriott and CI and was concerned about CI rebalancing the weeks that cost him a lot more points. IMO, CI was in the right in his situation, just like if DVC rebalanced points as we've talked here many times.

Thanks Dean for the reply,(I'm a Dean too). According to my contract I have a ten day out and we just did this on last friday. I'm comfortable with the timeshare concept but have a fairly serious health concern and let the presentation get into my head. I sort of was thinking forced travel for my family if something did happed to be. But I now am having issues. I believe I'm going to cancelled and then do more homework. :moped: (for my son)

You are smart to cancel and evaluate further. Then if it's for you, you'll always have the opportunity later. Just make sure you follow the rules on cancellation to the letter.
