Need a little help, possible first-time Christmas Week visit.

We just found out that we will be in Florida for a bowl game over the holidays, and since we're only a couple of hours away from Orlando, we thought we might spend a day at WDW.

We've been to WDW several times at different times of the year (July, April 3 times, January), but never around the holidays. We know it will be crazy-crowded, but will it slow down at all after Christmas Day?

We're looking at a visit on probably Wed or Thurs (Dec 27 or 28). We have leftover park-hoppers, so this would be a "best-of" trip for us. My concern is that I've heard that they have actually closed the parks when they get really crowded. Any thoughts from anyone?

If the MK would close, we would be OK since our favorite park is the AK. What are MGM, AK and Epcot like during the holidays? As crowded as the MK?

I haven't been the week after Christmas, but from what I've read on the boards that's a really busy week. Since I'm not sure what AK, EPCOT, or MGM would be like, I'll bump for an answer!

We have been twice during the week after Christmas and it is crazy busy all over WDW! However, MK is the worst typically. AK, MGM and EPCOT would be better. If it is a "greatest hits or favorites" trip you will be better off. If you go expecting the crowds than you will not be surprised and will be prepared.

Have a great trip! There is nothing like WDW at Christmas!!!

Been there 3 times that week - crazy busy. Set your expectations and get to the park early and you'll be okay.

Oh yes ... they stay up and the Christmas music usually plays through the first week of Janaury.

I have to warn you that the MK has Morning EMH for every day between Christmas and NYE. That means that it will open at 7:00 AM for resort guests. The MK's parking lot is usually jam-packed and closed by 10:00 AM.

If you go on 12/27 I would recommend Epoct because it has an Evening EMH the 12/26 and again on 12/28. If you go on 12/28 I would recommend MGM because it has an Evening EHM on 12/27 and again on 12/29 or AK since it has Morning EMH's on 12/27 and 12/29.
