Hello all. I just booked a cabin for our trip in May (yeah!) and I was wondering if it's feasible to walk from loop 2800 to the outpost? DH and I are in good shape and if walking would be faster then waiting for the bus we're all for it. TIA.

May, I'd say go for it. :cool1: Now, June July or August. :faint:

We walked from the 2300 loop to the outpost. Took 10-15 minutes. I'd say 2800 is an easy walk to the outpost.

Yeah, 2800 is the cabin loop nearest the Outpost and Fort check-in building so it is very walkable. 2800 and 2700 share an internal bus stop between them on the main road which is the last one on the Purple line before it gets to the Outpost. We recommend it to folks for the upcoming Marathon weekend who want to stay in a cabin but want a short, easy walk to the Outpost to catch a RunDisney bus to the EPCOT start line (that doesn't rely on internal transportation).

PS - at check-in ask for a cabin near the loop entrance. That way you won't be at the far end of the loop and have that distance to walk as well as the distance from the loop entrance to the Outpost.

Since, as ed points out, the 2800 loop is the closet to the outpost, then it's probably the easiest to walk from. Of course the biggest factor is your abilities/desires to walk. Sounds like you guys are in good shape so it shouldn't be an issue.

Will it be quicker? I depends on how the buses are running that day (as far as being on time). Typically you will see a bus come by within about 15-20 minutes. So if you just missed the bus, then it may be quicker to walk. If the bus is just about 5 minutes from the stop, then it may be quicker to wait for the bus. Problem is, you don't always know until after the fact.
