Need a hotel recommendation...

We are staying at my dad's timeshare at the Hilton Grand Int'l Drive from April 14th - 19th. We are arriving on the 13th and the villa wasn't available then. My dh has a ton of Hilton Honor points so we will use some of those to stay somewhere else for that 1st night. Can you suggest one near the Hilton Grand that is a Hampton or Hilton? Thanks!

Don't know how close it is but there is a Dubletree on major blvd and we stayed the in june and it was a nice hotel.

Dh has points for Hilton family and Holiday Inn family and wants to use up the Holiday Inn family points because he never stays in any of them anymore. Likes the Hilton family better. So, I need to find a hotel near Universal or where we are staying (Hilton Grand Resort, International Drive) for our first night. We can stay at Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza or Staybridge Suites. Thanks so much for your help!

Right...but now dh has switched brands on me. I guess I could give some examples and see if anyone has stayed there.

Off site hotels are not frequented by many of the regulars here. Once you have stayed onsite, it is really, really tough to stay elsewhere.

We really aren't trying to be unhelpful. We just aren't personally familiar with many hotels other than the Loews hotels.

I would suggest searching on Trip Advisor for hotels meeting your criteria and reading the user reviews. You'll get unbiased opinions from people who have already visited. Good luck!

There is a Holiday Inn on Kirkman and a Holiday Inn Express on Major Blvd there as well. Go to Priority Club and look up the hotels. We have not stayed at any of them, but once you narrow your search to one or two - go to trip advisor and look up reviews.

Oh I know that. We wouldn't be staying offsite except it is free and a 2 bedroom villa at the Hilton Grand. We just need the hotel for the 1st night we come down.

OK...took your advice and used Trip Advisor. We are going to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Lake Buena Vista for that first night. Got good reviews on Trip Advisor and Orbitz. Looks like it has a great pool so something to do that first night. Thanks everyone for your help!!!

One more thing marked off my to do list. Got to love that.
