Looking for advice on a booking. We want to go to WDW next December (30/Nov/2019 to 14 December/2019). Our home resort is SSR. We would like to stay @ AKL- Jambo house or possibly Poly or even BLT. So, my question is how do I book the SSR trip now, knowing that I intend to switch the reservation? Am I better to book it in 2 individual weeks? If I do this then I would need to choose only resort for a waitlist option, since I can only have 2 waitlists. (2 individual weeks means 2 waitlists.) If I book it as one solid straight stretch, then I can pick 2 resorts as waitlists, but would I have a lower chance of getting the full 2 weeks coming through? Am I dreaming to think that I'll even get the change at all?

If your dates are firm, book SSR and accept the likelihood of staying there. I'm assuming you're looking at studios, based on your inclusion of Poly.

You can look at RAT right now for what is available at Poly, BLT and Jambo those weeks. You already can't get a full week at any of them, and you have months to go before 7 months.

I'm in the "you're dreaming" boat. With SWGE opening right around then, stuff is going to get booked up. I suppose it's worth a shot to book 2 seeks and then waitlist them as soon as possible, but I wouldn't assume the change will happen.

Thanks guys! I thought it was a long shot, but I honestly didn't take SWGE into account.

I would book two separate weeks at SSR and then waitlist at 7 months. Or book one short and one long segment at SSR (say 4 days and 10 days) and then WL the shorter one. You never know — it might come through, and if it doesn’t you haven’t lost anything!

Book SSR, try day 1 7 months out for your other preferences and wait list right away if you can't get anything or even if you get something that's not your top choice.
