We are doing an Amazing race theme for dd(12) b'day party. I was just in the closet & found a box of 36 lei's (we were gonna have a luau originally - I forgot I bought them).

Can you think of something to do with them for the party?

Why not greet each guest when they come with a lei or if you're playing games make the lei a prize at one of the stations.

Transport a certain number of leis from point A to point B without using your hands... or mouth ;)
Depending on how the leis are made - count the number of flowers in "X" leis; when you get the count right, you'll be given your next clue.

Give each guest a lei upon arrival, then play a game wherein if someone says a certain word, like "birthday" or the birthday girl's name, another person hearing them can take the lei. So, if someone has collected 5 and says the chosen word, the person hearing it can take all 5 leis. Give a prize to the person who ends up with the most leis after an hour (or whatever time frame you decide).

Another idea is to have someone stand still and have people stand five or six feet away and try to "toss" a lei onto the person's neck, like living horseshoes. Again, whoever can get the most leis on someone wins a prize. Or have the person stand with arms up and people can get some on the arms or on the head.

Have fun! Aloha! :)

My children have been watching Minute to Win It sometimes lately, and the shows website http://www.nbc.com/minute-to-win-it/ has a link that says "GAMES" which has videos of all the silly little games they use as challenges on the show. I bet that you could come up with a series of games for the kids to play based on the video instructions on those links.

I was thinking something similar- but "ring" a tiki head (or even a pole). I think throwing them aroudn someone's neck might hard.
