Need a CS recommendation for DHS

Nothing on the menus jump out at me. I am also willing to try something not in DHS. We're going back to OKW for a nap/break before dinner so could also eat outside of DHS. It just needs to be CS. Thanks for any suggestions!

We plan to try Starring Roles this trip - I've read SO many good reviews and seen so many incredible looking pics (especially of the white chocolate cupcakes!) that I can't believe we've never even noticed it before. But I do understand that it's outdoor seating only, which may be a bit hot, depending on when you go. Sounds like they have primarily sandwiches and desserts, but that could be a nice break from burgers. From what I understand the Dining plan includes a sandwich, fruit or chips, drink, and a really good dessert! Here's a link to one of MickeyNicki's awesome posts of pics from it:

We always do Toy Story Pizza Planet while we're at the Studios. The kids love the decor and the games to play in the arcade. Also, it's nice and cool inside (or warm, possibly, since it looks like you're going in December ) You get pizza, salad (optional), drink, and dessert, if you're on DDP.

I usually do my best to skip eating CS in DHS, they have the worst CS of all the parks. Since you are going back to OKW anyway, I would suggest making a detour to DTD and eating at Wolfgang Puck Express, the food there is EXCELLENT. However, I can't remember if there is a bus that goes directly to DTD from DHS, so it might be a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, just eat at OKW.

I recommend not doing any CS at DHS.

Just snack there, then when you need a meal-
- if you have hoppers take the boat to EP and eat there.
- if you don't have hoppers, go back to your hotel or any on site resort and get cs there.

We have eaten there 4 times. Every single time we have had CS or TS in that park, DS(13) has gotten an upset stomach and we had to make an early night of it. My son states he will never eat a meal in DHS ever again.

Avoid ABC Commissary. I heard the cuban sandwiches were OK but we got the hamburgers and they were terrible and cold.

We have also tried Studio Catering Co. It was OK and much better than ABC Commissary.

I know you said CS but HS has several decent TS meals.

We had originally, very long ago, put down ABC Commissary as our choice for CS at HS. Then I saw the "worst restaurants" thread a couple months back. As you can imagine, most restaurants have people saying they loved them and saying they hate them. ABC was one of the very few that was consistently ranked as "worst" - think by the end of the thread it had like 35 people pick it as that and the next closest probably had less than half that! Sounds like it might be a good place to avoid!

It is bad. As the author of Mousejunkies puts it "see those little lizards running around everywhere, catch one, fry it on the sidewalk and enjoy", it's gonna be better than ABC commissary. We ate there 2 years ago and NEVER again will set foot in the place. It was just plain awful! I can't find any CS tolerable at DS, we either do TS or eat elsewhere. Have you thought about trying Olivia's at OKW? I hear they have great food. We stayed there years ago but I only got food once from the takeout window (just a burger) and it was fine, not spectactular but tasty and definately no where near ABC commissary level!

Rosie's on Hollywood Blvd headed towards the ToT has pretty good fast food type stuff like burgers and chicken fingers...nothing too special. We really do enjoy Starring Rolls. We stumbled into it on our last trip and the food was yummy. We had a Turkey Sandwich and then split the yummiest chocolate chip cookie ever! I highly suggest it.
