Hello fellow Disers. Its been a long time since we last visited WDW and we are defiantly feeling the itch again. Unfortunately due to my new job and other obligations we got involved into I don’t have the time to invest into researching and I was hoping if anyone could point me in the direction of (cheap (under $100 a day), nice, close, etc) place to stay. During my quick search I came up with Hawthorn Suites Lake Buena Vista and I’m curious if anyone has had any opinions on this place. I love to hear your feedback on any place you deem worthy! Oh by the way we have plane tickets for 1/11-1/19.

Thanks!

It might be a little more than $100 when you add in a resort fee and possibly parking but you can usually get a resort with PL for around $100, usually a little lower. Hotels include Wyndham and Hilton in DTD, Gaylord Palms, Marriott Convention Hotel and others.

www.biddingfortravel.com will give some pointers.

Thanks to everyone for suggestions. On the off whim I decided to check with AAA to see what they could do for us and found Pop Century resort for $63.20 a night. Yes its small, and lacks fridge, coffee maker, etc, etc. but we can save on car rental and rent the car only when we need it (for Universal, Bush, Sea World), consequently saving on gas, driving time, etc, etc. So I booked that, its our first time staying on the property, I’m not sure if we will like it or hate it but I will report when we came back.

I love pop century - it is my favorite of the values.

It has a lake!!!

you can get a refrigerator (the tiny ones no freezer) - sometimes they charge you the extra fee of $10 a day - sometimes not (especially lately)

do you get the free meals, too???

you do know that Disney will now come and get you at the airport - right?

I do know about the extra charge for the fridge if that becomes necessary we will use it, I also know about the ME which I booked at the same time (pocket with language tags will come in 20 days before trip) but I don’t know anything about free meals… You have my interest peaked now all tough I wonder how “free” something is. Do you think that $63 a night is a good deal for Pop?

disney was having a nice special. You brought your tickets and rooms together and Disney got your meals.

I though AAA was participating in this program?

Yes $63 is a good price.

with annual pass or florida resident you could do better but not much.

Well we are not Florida residents nor is there any chance we will be going back for at least another 2 years so I will sit on that price. As far as the tickets I was going to get them through Ticket mania as they are cheaper then through my AAA office. Thanks a ton for your advice.
