We are having our son's 3rd birthday party next Monday. His friends/cousins are ages 18 months to 3 years old. I have been trying to come up with a craft for them to do, and can't come up with anything. I'm hoping someone here can help me.

Our theme is Disney - mainly Mickey Mouse. I bought Toy Story and Mickey Pirate temporary tattoos at Disney a few weeks ago to put on the kids as they arrive. I have Mickey coloring pages and will have table set up for them to color at. I'm also going to have a Lego area and we'll play some games. I'd love to have a cute craft for them to make and take home.

Any craft or party ideas are much appreciated.

Wow, that is a tough age -- but we did a craft that works for that age and is fun for both girls and boys.

You know those tubes with toys hidden in rice that you spin to find the items? They retail for about $20 in the specialty toy stores. Well, here is a way for the kids to make their own.

1) Take clear water/pop bottles cleaned out.
2) Have the kids chose "fun" items to place in the bottle. We used glitter, confetti, gems, pearls. But you could use anything that can fit in the top of the bottle -- tiny erasers, Dollar Tree toys, dice, etc. You could "theme it" if you wished with space and western items. If you wanted to use slightly larger figures I guess you could buy cheap rubbermaid small containers with a larger mouth opening instead of the pop bottles.
3) Fill the bottle up to about 80% full with rice or sand (use a funnel). (we used sand since it was Ariel themed, hence the gems/pearls/etc)
4) HOT GLUE the top on so what is in the bottle stays IN the bottle.

The kids were SOOO excited about this item and they last a long time. They are very sturdy. You can also do it with water and glycerin instead of sand/rice.

You could also have stamps and stickers in star shapes out for the kids to play with.

I was just at our local Dollar Tree and they had the cutest stuffed pony riding sticks -- you know the stuffed head on a 3 foot long stick they place between their legs. That would be great for games and a take home party favor. They were small and would be perfect for that age group!

Have fun with the party!

My son had a Blue's Clue Birthday at age 2 so EVERYTHING was Blue's Clues.
We played Blue Clue's Bingo. I made the boards and calling cards. Instead of numbers for regular bingo I had picture of the characters on the board. Even the younger kids got involved since they knew who to look for when you said Does anyone have BLue, Mr. Pepper etc.

We also played pin the paw on Blue. (I also made this)

My son also had a Buzz Lightyear 3rd b-day party and Mickey 4th birthday party.
I played the same games just made them fit the theme. Pin the tail on Pluto and pin the laser on Buzz.

Do you have a Cricut and Mickey cart? Maybe you can make Mickey characters and make dress clothes. Make them magnetic so the kids can dress and undress the characters.

I love this magnetic mickey dress up idea! Cute!

Thanks for all the great ideas!!

Last night I went to ACMoore and bought some foam sheets and foam sticker shapes and letters. I'm going to make photo frames that they can decorate with their names and shapes - and print a photo from the party for them to put in before they leave. I'll have magents already glued on the back....and am thinking of cutting out circles to add the Mickey ears on two corners if I can get it to look right.

Thanks for the suggestions!! I love magnet idea.
