and meeting family for drinks. In your opinion, which bar or lounge (?) would be fun that's either at Saratoga springs, port orleans riverside or french quarter?

FIRST time! can't wait.

Thanks all

Given the choices listed above I would recommend Riverside. Two words : "Yeeha Bob" :lmao:. A really funny entertainer. He performs Wednesday - Saturday evenings at the River Roost lounge at Riverside. I've seen him a few times and he is always a big hoot ! Here is a link to his site http://www.yehaabob.com/

ofcourse, anything else that's nearby (no car) would be great too!

What are you looking for? A pure bar, adult venue, or a family friendly place to meet. You seem to reject Scott's recommendation, which would be fun and family friendly. The Turf Club right at Saratoga Springs might meet your need, if it is more adult focused.
Also, from that general area, you have all of the choices of DTD.
We love Raglan Road, an Irish Pub with 2 bars and a live Irish band.
There is also Paradiso 37 which says it has the coldest beer in WDW.

The Turf club tends to have kids all over it playing pool.

Reject what? I never had the chance to even read Scott's suggestion when I posted! ???? Thanks Scott

Ohh..this looks great! So different! We may have to check this out in may! So, you obviously recommend this?

Sure do ! I've seen him perform several times and its been a blast each time. Do a search for "Bob Jackson" or "Yeeha Bob" on the board and you will find numerous posts about him and his show.

If you don't want to drive then one of the previous posts provided some suggestions on venues at downtown disney. I've not tried those so I have no opinion. If you are staying close enough to DTD you could walk over to the marketplace and take a bus or boat to Riverside. I do remember that the boats stop running about 11pm.

If you don't have a car it is kind of a pain to get to Riverside and back unless you take a taxi. If you're too late for the boat and you are at a spot you can walk back to SSR from DTD you can get a bus back there and walk, but if it's late you will want to change at DTD to the SSR bus. The OP did ask about Riverside and POFQ so I assume they're prepared to do the transportation. FQ has a jazz-based show if you are looking for something less raucous. These shows do not take place every night, just Weds-Sun.
