Need 50TH Anniversary Details

Please forgive me - I am out of the loop with what's going on at Disneyland. Has there been any information released as to when the 50th Anniversary will be celebrated? Will it be for 12 or 15 months like WDW does? We would like to visit during the celebration, but don't necessarily "have" to be there on July 17th (unless it's only a 1 day event). Are there any rumors?

I've heard it will start in April of 2005, and last about a year and a half. There aren't many details being released about the 50th yet.

It is rumored that the media announcement for the 50th - "Disney's Golden Celebration" will be made late February 2004. Can't wait to hear what they have planned!

We are planning on being there the week of the 17th since my daughter was born on July 17th. As soon as we realized what day she was born on we have been planning on going for the 50th ever since. It will be her fourth birthday. I can't wait until the official info comes out! How is DL in July usually? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

my advice in a nutshell
1. open up the park, and head to fantasyland
2. leave the park by about 1 pm and head over to DCA eat lunch
3. Head back to your room for nap and/or swim
4. Eat a big dinner at hotel or DD
5. Return to DL around 7 pm and close the park
