Hi, just wondering if I paid someone for 5 points to transfer to my account if I could get around the borrowing limit for 2022? I have 2 studios but would much rather have a 2 bedroom and I’m just short…

Transfers do not have anything to do with the borrowing limit so you can indeed get yourself more points this way.

How many months out are you? If 7, have you factored in buying one time use points?

But yes, if you transferred 5 in, that does not count against your borrow limit.

You could purchase one time use points from member services for $19 per point. You're allowed to buy up to 24 points per use year, I believe.

I'm considering the same thing - I need a few points over my borrowing limit.

If you call MS to get OTUPs, you could also try asking to waive the limit for just the 5 pts. There are reports of them doing that. The worst is they say no and then you just have to purchase the OTUPs.

We did a split stay in order to keep under the borrowing limit, and to get 7 nts instead of 6. We just did 1 bedrooms this trip, only booked 2 mths out and had pts to use. Did 2 nts in a standard 1 bedroom at Kidani and 5 nts at CCV 1 bedroom. Time of year also helped as the pt cost went down in mid August.

We too have a 3-night studio/4-night 1 BR split stay due to the borrowing limit, so we took the opportunity at 7 months to move the studio from BWV G/P view to AKL-K Savanna view. Looking forward to it - but I'd still rather have a 7-night 1 BR stay!
