Need 2 Day Touring Plan

Visiting from NJ with my 24 year old California resident son on a Saturday and Sunday, May 12th and May 13th. I know this is Grad weekend...ugh. It's the only time we can go. We are early raisers and don't expect to do everything. We want to make sure we hit all the adventurous attractions. We have 2 day park hoppers and plan to run and get FP throughout our stay. We have been to WDW many times and even though we enjoy attractions like the Tiki Room and It's a Small World, we would catch those types of attractions at DL the next time around. Sooo, with that being said could someone give me a 2 day touring plan please, including FP's? I would really appreciate it very much!!! What are the "must-do's" and in what order should we hit them on what days? I know I am asking a lot...anyone??

Best I can do is offer suggestions on determining your personal list, my family is different than your family
Look at the rides that only DL (and DCA if you choose to go) offer, especially the matterhorn & Indy (if you like these kind of rides). Make sure you do Pirates, IMHO, MUCH better at DL
Hit the park early, run through that list (probably crisscrossing the park to do so) and try to finish it by noon each day.
Take it easy in the afternoon, using FP to the fullest (always have one in hand, grab a second during the hour window before using a fast pass, etc). We enjoyed DCA when DL was a madhouse in the afternoon.

I know the touring plans app and website is controversial on this website, but if you plug your ride list into their personalized touring plan analyzer it will give you an idea on the order to hit rides in the morning. At least it would be a starting point, your mileage may vary.

Hi Dylan! I am new to DL and paper fastpasses so can you tell me what you mean by grav a second FP during teh hour window before using a FP? I thought you had to use a FP before grabbing another so I am struggling with a Touring Plan! Thanks!

You can get a new fastpass as soon as your window opens to ride with your current fast pass or two hours, whichever is less. So if your space mountain fastpass window is 8:20 to 9:20, at 8:21 get a fastpass for Star Tours before you go on Space mountain and grab a buzz lightyear at the same time (because Buzz is not linked into the system).
First, are you staying on site? Because that totally changes how I would approach it.

Didn't mean to take over the thread! We are staying on site and have 3 day park hoppers.

Didn't realize it was a different person posting than the original poster. On site with 3 day park hoppers, if you utilize the extra magic hour everyday and fast pass you will not have trouble hitting all of the type of rides that the OP was talking about. That extra magic hour is key. It basically garuntees you can get the DCA heavy hitters done in one morning. Extra magic helps at DL but not as much because offsite guests can get EMH by buying a 3 day advance ticket, so it is a lot more crowded. The original poster with 2 day passes if offsite is still doable but it will take some planning.

You might want to subscribe to touringplans.com for $7 or so. I did for my trip with my 20 year old. I starting with the Disneyland adult highlights touring plan for my one day and the California Adventure highlights touring plan the other day. And then I just customized these (took out what I wasn't interested in - just a few things at Disneyland). I just put must dos on these and figure after the must dos each day, we could play it by ear. // I love it that they tell me the order of things to ride, when to pick up fast passes, when to use them. I even listed where I wanted to eat to work that in. I like the descriptions of all the rides/attractions too and the rating of each by the author and by age group.

No worries Pinkgirlmommy. Received good info from your questions =). I think I'm going with the app. Good idea. I want to make the most of our 2 days in Disney. He might even change his mind and instead of spending our last day together at Laguna beach surfing, we will stay in Disney...nah fat chance! haha. Thanks all!!

I would love to know how your two day touring plan went. We will be visiting next month and also only have two days but we do have park hoppers. Just starting to think about our plan of attack.

Hey Melk, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We had a great time! We were ningas and saw everything we wanted to see in 2 days (Saturday & Sunday). Our most important plan of attack was to get to the parks both mornings as soon as they opened and we got FP whenever possible. A few observations: CA Park: The line first thing in the am for Radiator Springs was really long....this was the line for fastpasses!! We went back at 10:30 am to get our FP. There was no wait at the FP line at this time. FP return time was 12:30-1:30. This worked out well. I would also get a FP for WOC as soon as you can. That was my favorite show!! However, it is really important to stand in the front row of any of the colored sections. If you have short people in your group, they will not be able to enjoy the show in its entirely. Next I would hit Toy Story since there is not fastpass for this attraction. Overall, we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for anything in CA. Easy peasy. DL Park: So Get a FP for Indiania Jones as soon as you get there. There were really long lines for this. If you want to do Peter Pan, you should hit that first thing. The lines were crazy for some reason. To sum it up, get there early, get park hoppers, grab FP, hit the non FP attractions first thing, try to relax in the afternoon (we hit the Tiki Bar at the DL Hotel for drinks and food ~ Atmosphere was so cool) and drink lots of water and coffee =). Enjoy!!

I'd spend $7 and subscribe to touringplans.com and do a plan for Disneyland one day and CA Adventure the other, start with the author's one day plan for the ages of your party and do additions and subtractions if you have preferences that are different. Put in you date, arrival time, etc. and it will spit out what order to do attractions, when to get FP, when to use them - pretty mindless. You can put in lunch breaks and other breaks. It take into account whether or not you have the extra morning hour etc. // That's what I'm doing for our two days. // Lots of people like to get park hoppers. For us, though, for what we want to do there is plenty to do in each park for the amount of time we want to spend there, so we'll only buy them if we've finished our plan in the one park and want to hop.
