Another web site is www.roshgo.com - They have a whole clothing line including hats, visors, bandanas and headbands. They also sell the gel if you wanted to make your own.

ebay also has them. I just bought a set of 2 for 5.95 including shipping.

Plenty of people have them, and they come in all sorts of colors. Probably a good deal if you need several- I saw a 5 pack for 9.99.

Thanks for the tips. I just ordered mine online!! I can not wait to try them. I get hot flashes and I know this will help!! :Pinkbounc

Only 15 more days I am so excited. :jumping1: :disrocks: :thewave: :thewave:

Thanks for all the suggestions, I just checked ebay and hopefully found just what I wanted. :grouphug:

Could you tell me what department of walmart you found these in?TIA :wave2:

I just picked some up at Walmart. I found them in Sporting goods with the tennis stuff. They are small and hard to see, they had the display down low enough so I could not find them. I asked someone working there and he brought me over and pointed them out. They only had two left, apparently they sell out of them fast. I think they were about $2.88. I find the one I tried the other night was leaking the gel and that seemed kind of gross, but I was trying to sleep with it on. I am sure it is fine for walking around WDW. I also have to go to a swim meet today, I am glad I found this thread, I think I'll use mine to try and keep cool today. Thanks!!!!

I bought these at a flea market, 9 - 10 years ago - they were a lifesaver...

FF last summer bought a pair at Wal Mart for the 4th of July pair , and we couldnt get them to work - at all!! one pair the gel leaked, the other pair I couldnt get the gel to hydrate - I gave up!

So glad to see they work, and it wasnt a figment of my pregnant imagination years ago!! :rotfl:

I have found them at sporting goods stores, like Academy. Most of them simply look like a rolled up bandana.

And as the instructions say, refrigerating is not necessary. Its the evaporation that cools the skin, not the temperature. :sunny:

These are really easy to make - good instructions are here:

My suggestion is to buy the best cotton abric you can find - go to a quilt store, don't buy fabric at Wal*** or Joann's - cheap, loosely woven fabric! Then preshrink the fabric (wash in hot water) before making these. This will keep the gel from oozing out through the fabric. Also since they are wet most of the time, you'll want to make sure the fabric is colorfast (washing in hot water will show you!).

Here are some sources for the polymer crystals, but you can get them at your local home center - they are the same crystals you add to potting soil to help retain moisture in the soil:

Medium Granules from Watersorb/Polymers Inc., (501) 623-9995, www.watersorb.com.

Polymer Crystals from The Artistic Shop LLC, (262) 691-1353, www.theartisticshop.com.

Soil Moist from JRM Chemical Inc., (800) 962-4010, www.soilmoist.com.

Water Crystals from WaterCrystals.com, (719) 599-7141, www.watercrystals.com.

Used them and they work very well . also had the hat and both together work really really well but for some reason the hat leaked out some sort of substance about four days into our trip and was bumed out.
But i saw something one tv. the other day and am going to try this for may 2006 . The web site is sharperimage.com and look for neck cooler, this looks like the ans to my prayers or yours. let me know if you try this or what.
