Hello!

Can anyone with recent experience tell me if you need to check in with your resort's concierge the night before in order to ensure that the early breakfast ADR bus stops at your hotel?

We have an 8:05 ADR on a morning when MK opens at 9. On every one of our past trips save the last one, we simply went out early to the bus stop and a bus came. On our last trip, no early bus ever came and when we checked in to the restaurant late and aggravated, the CM told us we should have let the concierge know the night before that we needed the bus (that the early buses don't automatically stop at every resort).

Any recent experience with this?

Thanks.

Better safe then sorry! This is what my mother always taught me. I've thought that the morning buses alway started running to the Parks 1&1/2 hours before park opening!

the other option is to grab a taxi, wich would run you about $15-20 to get you from any of the other Resorts over to CR.

That's a genuine shock, since buses have been starting at 6:30 for ages. Sure, let your resort's Lobby Concierge know the night before.

NO buses came? They generally start at 6:30 and come every half hour that early, and there's a separate bus for each park - and there IS a bus for each park, since there's a breakfast (and often an early tour or two) at each park daily. For an 8:05 reservation, being out for the bus before 7 is best... or as WizardLarz suggests, grab a cab!

I'm shocked as well. Concierge and front desks at the resorts have nothing to do with early morning buses. In many cases, they aren't even aware the early buses exist. So to tell guests that they should notify concierge that they need an early ADR bus is ludicrous to me.
In any case...buses run to ALL the resorts, to all the parks, for early ADRs. The buses start running by 6:30, sometimes even earlier at 6:15. No, they don't run as frequently as the regular buses.
But they do stop at every single resort. There have been times when I'm the only guest out there waiting, at 6:30. How the heck do you think the bus driver knew to stop at BW for me??? I wasn't just lucky...they stop every time. It's the regular route, every morning, every 20-25 mins.

From our experiences with Cast Members in the resorts none of them have any knowledge of the bus system.

You can also tell this from reading the posts here in the Transportation forum.

Disney provides early morning buses from all their resorts to the various breakfast all around WDW. If you have any questions you need to ask one of the bus drivers. They will always give you the correct information. Never, and I repeat NEVER, take any transportation information from anyone else!

As the last two posters have said, you can't count on cast members in the resorts to give you correct bus information.

I had an early tour at Animal Kingdom park. I asked at BoardWalk Villas about an early bus. They said there was no such thing and I would have to take a cab.

Thanks everyone.

We, too, were shocked that a bus never came, having gone that route so many times in the past. Perhaps the CM was just trying to tell us something to make us feel better, or whatever (we were at the stop by 7 a.m.). Thanks for confirming my suspicion that it's not about checking in with the concierge the night before (because how many people would know to do that?!?).

Yeah, the only stinky thing about cabs to the MK is that you have to go to TTC and not directly to the park. I think our plan will be that we'll just grab a cab to the Contemporary and walk over -- either after waiting until a certain time for a bus OR just as a matter of course.

Thanks as always for the replies!

True, the bus system is so complex that most non transportation CMs don't have a clue because they don't stay at a position long enough to learn it.
Not knowing the times and not trying to be an apologist, is it possible that the OP just missed the last early bus and the regular buses hadn't started arriving yet? Kinda of a twilight zone in bus coverage.
