I have no idea if I even spelled the name correctly! And I have no idea if I should post this on this board or not, but my 9 month old daughter just got perscribed a nebulizer by her pediatrician today to help her breath, she has a little brochial spell she is fighting! Problem...we leave for Disney tomorrow for only two days. (MVMCP!!!). We are driving up from Tampa so no big deal with the traveling. However, my question is this....where can I go to administer her medication with this machine. She needs one treatment ever 4 hrs. I know they have "baby care center" areas in the parks, so is this the best place to go? All I need is a plug, but I am not too sure how WDW would feel if I just plugged in somewhere to administer her breathing treatment. Any help is greatly appreciated!

On another note...beyond the breathing treatment she is doing fine. Just so everyone understands that I am not putting her health on the back burner just to go to WDW! The dr. just wanted her to have this little extra because she is an infant. They said what she has is pretty much the "common cold" for adults, but when babies get it they can be set back a little further! No flames please! (ha-ha) :goodvibes

We've taken and used ours so no flames from me. The baby care center and the first aid and even Chef Mickeys accomodated us. (we were early for a very early breakfast) Don't worry and have fun.

:thumbsup2 BTW, DS5 has had one since he was six months, we take it with us on every trip, anywhere.

You can use First Aid, as was already mentioned. They will also store equipment like that for you so that you don't have to carry it thru the park all day if you will only need to use it at scheduled times.

Thanks...great info on them storing it for us. That was another worry. I didn't want to leave it in the stroller, however I didn't want to lug it around with everything else that goes with a 9 month old! It's not very big, but if someone else will hold on to it for us that is great!

I would think anywhere with a plug would gladly accomodate you. I would go with the First Aid who will hold it for you. Good luck and I hope your baby is feeling better soon. Have a great trip

Ours is small, battery-powered and highly portable. We have used it just about everywhere. No one seems to notice or care.

Hello! Our twin DS8's were born >3 months premature and their lungs are well...bad, just plain bad. We have taken our nebulizer everywhere, and highly recommend powering up that battery so you can use it wherever.

One of our sons has cerebral palsy and has a feeding tube. We found the first aid stations to be lovely tranquil spots - should meet your needs completely.

Hopefully you will be able to put that nebulizer behind ouy sometime soon. We have now graduated from nebulizer to aerochamber to puffer...such freedom!

P.S. Don't know - will they store the meds for you as well? If not, make sure you keep them out of the sunlight.

Also - are your meds in the easy, ready to administer nebules or are you mixing your own with saline etc.? We didn't have the Flovent and Salbutimol nebules at first and mixing was a real pain. Perhaps this was just the way it was done "way back when." If you are not using the nebules, speak to your doc and/or pharmacist...nebules are SO easy!

Any of the First Aid stations will store any medicines and/or medical equipment that you do not need on an instantaneous basis but have to have available.

For medicines they will have you fill out a form, they will put the medicines in a paper bag in front of you and staple it shut with the form you filled out. They will refrigerate the medicines if necessary. When you come back, they will get your bag out, open it up, and have you verify that it is your medications and sign the form that you got your items back.

Note there are First Aid stations, staffed by at least one RN all the time, at each park including the water parks.

Just wanted to add that we also used ours at the First Aid Station (Epcot) and they stored it for us too.

My DD, now 10, had a nebulizer. If your little one can take liquid meds see if your Dr. can prescribe liquid Albuterol(if this is what she is taking via nebulizer). That way you won't need to take the nebulizer.
