Neat Experience At BLT Today.

Hey everyone!

My family and I are down in WDW right now, and had a neat experience today that I wanted to share with you all. We are owners at SSR (staying there right now) and have seen/heard about BLT and are pretty interested in checking it out. Today while on our way to MK, we stopped off at The Contemporary to look around and came upon a DVC sign saying "Special guests please come upstairs to The Ballroom of the Americas". Well, we figured it probably had something to do with BLT and decided to head on up there to ask a few questions. (Our guide is currently stationed over at BLT so we figured we could talk to him). We arrived on the second floor to see a roped off area with pictures of BLT and a welcome desk. We asked the attendant what was going on, and she explained that they were doing some promotional work for DVC and BLT. We told her we were members and wanted to learn more about BLT and she told us that we had missed the first part of the promotional tour, but could go ahead on into the ballroom and join up for the second portion. We headed in, and sat in the back. A drawing was held for a 7 night stay at a World Passport collection resort. And then everyone started to gather their belongings. Right then, the doors to the back of the room swung open and Mickey and Minnie appeared. The doors opened wider to reveal a big dance party, complete with characters, a DJ, and food. There was fruit, sandwiches, desserts...and my favorite...a whole cart full of Mickey ice cream bars. We snacked for just a bit, and danced with the characters. Chip and Dale did a great rendition of the Cupid Shuffle..(for those of you who do not know what that is...it is a dance to a popular song). After the party we were taken over to BLT where we were able to see the rooms, talk to our guide, and even tour the Top of the World Lounge. The view was beyond amazing! Afterwards we were given the DVC fastpass cards that have 3 rides on each. I believe we may be adding on BLT here in the near future. Anyway...just wanted to share a cool experience with you all!!

That's great. You had good timing to just show up and be able to attend. I've signed up for the event and look forward to it. I mentioned it to my DH and told him about the snacks and he said, that's just what we need, more food. (we are on the delux ddp this trip so that we can do signature meals every night!) I'll still manage to squeeze down a mickey bar! We just added on to BLT last week.

It sounds just like the DVC session we attended in Boston recently, but I'm jealous. First you got Mickey ice cream bars and second you got to tour BLT. It would have been hard to tour BLT in Boston, but they could have brought ice cream.

We were there yesterday too! It was called the "Vacation as You Wish" tour. First is a presentation where they gave away cool gift items like binoculars, rice krispie treats, and a nice portfolio. Then came the dance party. We were late for the party, so we ended up being one of the last ones called to tour the Grand Villa at BLT. That meant we got lots of time to dance with the characters. First, it was Mickey, Chip and Dale. Then they went in and Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto came out. I have some great pictures of my girls dancing with the characters. The Mickey bars were pretty good too. Then we got to tour the Grand Villa. It was amazing! I'll try to post some of my pictures later from the tour. We already own at BLT, but our friends bought even more points there during the event. It was an amazing opportunity, if anyone else gets an invite, make sure you go!

If you get an invite GO, ESPECIALLY if your planning on buying into BLT.
Just during the BLT event, DVC is offering $12.00 off per point 100-159 pt add on, 160-199 pt add on is $15.00 off per point and 200 and above is $17.00 off per point. HOWEVER you must buy in there with the guides present but your regular guide gets credit as well. Incentive is not available to anyone not at the presentation, also allowing down payment to be paid over 2 months. We took pics but do not have cable to upload to the laptop, SORRY....
Call us crazy but we passed on the add on, even after seing that GV (OMG its beautifull)! Still holding out for BWV.....Shawn
