Nearest supermarket or convenience store? Liquor store?

Our first trip staying at Universal (PB). We would like to stop on the way from the airport to stock up on some basics for the kids and for us. Is there a nearby supermarket or convenience store? How about liquor store? Or do we have to drive to Goodings near Disney? thanks.

Yep, if you find where the RP is, which is right by the Portifino, pass up the RP and get on International Drive, which is just about 1500 feet from there, kinda just across the highway. There is a Walgreens right there on the corner. If you go up I-Drive just a little further there is an ABC liquor on the left.

Thanks, but is Walgreens a supermarket? Around here it is a drugstore chain?

I wouldn't call it a supermarket, but it has some limited grocery supplies, basics, milk, juices, some food, baby supplies, etc., if you need a full blown supermarket let me know, I never needed one because walgreens always worked, but I'll check if that won't do.

The closest full service grocery store to the Universal property is the Publix on the corner of Kirkman and Conroy in the shopping center...the ABC store is about two doors up from the grocery store. The Walgreens is on Kirkman almost across from the property and has quite a bit of stuff but the prices might be a bit higher.

Yep, I think Metro is talking about the other Walgreens, which I think has a built in liquor store. I was talking about the one on I-Drive, but Metro is correct, I think that one Metro mentioned is actually probably closer to the Portifino, than the one on I-Drive which I used because it was closer to the RP. So Metro's suggestion may be even better.

If you're adventurous - Go down Sand Lake Road to the "upscale" Publix

I think they've also opened a Wal-Mart down Turkey Lake (past Sand Lake - as if you're driving towards Sea World)

There are plenty places on International Drive to stock up on groceries and booze. It's about a 2 minute drive from Universal. Once you reach the Intersection with International Drive just make a right and there's heaps of places. The ABC liquor store is on the left hand side a couple of blocks down. Can't miss it! Decent parking as well. It's big as well, so you'll find what you're looking for no problem.
