I am staying in a villa in Indian Ridge Oaks, and just wondered if somebody could give me directions to nearest Supermarket preferably Publix.

Don't know if this helps but there is a branch opposite Dicovery cove on i drive.

Hi,

You are staying near the Formosa Gardens area and there is a Publix supermarket nearby.
You are just a few minutes drive to the junction of FG boulevard and the 192, at this junction take a left turn and about a mile up the road on the right hand side there is a shopping complex , the Publix is situated there.

Looking at the map there is one on the 192 just west of where you are, past Lake Wilson. Seems to be opposite the Days Inn / Comfort Suites.

There is also a Goodings and a Walgreens along the same stretch of the 192.

Going east of FG Blvd is very congested and also Goodings is a lot more $$ then any Publix you will encounter.

The Orange Lake Publix is the one I refer to earlier on the thread, also the Champion's Gate one in Davenport I would say is more than 3 miles away.
The Publix website is wrong I think, CG is at least double the distance, on Mapquest it shows it as 6.6 miles which I think is probably more realisitic.

I think the Orange Lake and Champions Gate stores are probably equidistant. The advantage of getting to the CG one is that the road is likely to be less busy and it is very straightforward. From Indian Ridge Oaks, head south on Old Lake Wilson Road until you reach the junction with Osceola Polk Line Road. Turn right and go straight on until you reach Champions Gate (literally a huge gate!). The Publix is on the right, just past the main entrance. I reckon it is about a 10-15 minute drive

The problem with the zip code method is that 34747 covers a huge area (hence the 4 digit sub code in the examples above). The Championsgate store is quite a bit further from Indian Ridge Oaks than the one on the 192 - I would say Johnny's estimate is about right.

There is also a Winn Dixie (although it's not badged as such - used to be a Goodings) at the Formosa Gardens Shopping Center just a couple of minutes drive from Indian Ridge Oaks (at the junction of Formosa Gardens Blvd and the US192). I prefer Publix, but it's handy for subsequent shops when you just need to pop in for a few essentials.
