Ok I am a little pessimistic and after my weeklong hospital stay last year I am worried that a day or two after being in Florida I'll wake up and need to run to the hospital because something is wrong (ex being that my crohns has eaten through my intestine or something...it's always on my mind) and I'm in need of emergency surgery. My anxiety is even worse being we're down to theteens in our day count to Disney. All of you have been wonderful in helping with the bathrooms. We're staying off site but very close to the Disney property in some condo style resort.

On top of the hospitals...if I use my park passes and then am rushed to the hospital(we have the must be used within 1 days of first swipe pass) is there any way to recope the money lost? Obviously they won't recope our time there or offer any free trips because my body hates me ect. Anyway just curious about if we could recover at least the cost of tickets

umm-ok once tickets are used they are not refundable (actually after they are bought they are not "refundable"). If something were to happen, you could always ask WDW, but I would not expect them to refund the tickets.

As far as hospitals, there is Celebration Hospital in Celebration and Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando.

Not to be nosy or anything, but if there is a good possibility you may need a hospital during your vacation, you may want to check with your Dr to make sure it is ok to travel. He/she may also have some recomendations for you.

Your ok, no need to apologize. I talked to my GI our last visit and he said I didn't have any need to be worried and I just needed to be careful with foods and take my medicine regularly. Take my time on things and if I felt my body responding not very well then I should take a rest. Since my diagnosis I've been told while traveling always know the closest hospital since crohns has a tendancy to take a turn for the worse at any time. I should also know the nearest pharmacy for medicine refills but I plan to get refills before we leave so I should be set. So far my crohns han't shown to be to problematic since my hospital stay so it shouldn't be a problem but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I was worried that we couldn't get the tickets back, but I was curious since my parents are treating us. It'd be a total bummer to go and an emergency would occur and unfortunatly wouldn't be able to get their money back.

Anyway thanks

also I apologize if my post rubbed you the wrong way...at least about the tickets it wasn't meant to be offensive or sound greedy in any way

If you are taken to the hospital by ambulance Disney will do a lot for you. They may not refund tickets but will make them into No Expire. And they will cover a lot of the local transportation costs.

And again, if they take you more than likely you will be taken to Celebration Hospital, Dr. Phillips, Hospital, or even Orlando Regional Medical Center depending on what is actually necessary.

And at the Resorts they have information about Turner Drugs, which does deliver for a $5.00 charge and accepts most insurance.

Since the OP will not be at a resort-

Delivery to WDW resorts is 7.50 for anyone needing the service.

If you are unable to use more than one or two days of your tickets, you might want to upgrade them to no-expire. As someone mentioned above, if you end up in the hospital, Disney might comp an upgrade, but they might not either. If you are a worry planner, as I am, it may help you relax and enjoy yourself if you think ahead now and decide at what point it would be worth the cost to do it yourself, even if they don't. For example, if you have seven day tickets, you may decide that if the trip is canceled after 1 day, it's worth it, but not if it's canceled after 3 days. (You have to upgrade based on the original number of days on the ticket.)

For future trips, to Disney or elsewhere, you may want to look into trip insurance. At www.insuremytrip.com you can put in some parameters and get a list of companies/policies to compare and pick from. For a reasonable price, you can get policies that will let you cancel for any reason, upto the day of the flight, or that will reimburse you if you have to interrupt the trip, or that will pay the costs of medical evacuation back to a local hospital. They usually exempt pre-existing conditions unless you buy the insurance within a set number days of booking the trip.

It's not pessimistic at all to be prepared. :) I usually take a list/phone numbers of pharmacies and pedi-endocrinologists with me so that IF something happens I am prepared.

My DD has severe food allergies, and we never go anywhere without knowing where the neatest hospital is. Better safe than sorry.
