Near by Hotels

You may want to specify what area you are referring to.

Are we looking at Orlando, Port Canaveral, Barcelona, Vancouver, Dover...? Also, if you want inexpensive, DCL-related, high-end, etc. that would help and how many people in your party. The folks on this thread can help with a lot of this.

Port Canaveral , for 2 , I want to stay the night before the cruise , I don’t need a luxury resort , but don’t want a dump , maybe they have a shuttle to the ship or we can Uber .

We have stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn, the Radisson, Country Inn and Suites, 4 Points Sheraton, Doubletree and the new Homewood Suites. The Marriott, Country Inn and Suites, Radisson and Homewood are all right near each other and the closest to the port. I believe all have a shuttle. Some are comp and some you have to pay for.

Just so you know, Country Inn and Suites was shuttered for 4 months due to hurricane renovations. While I'm sure everything was overhauled and is now in great shape since their Feb 1 opening, their prices have also all doubled.

We like to take the DME bus from the MCO airport to WDW. We like to stay at All Star Sports. Then the day of the cruise we like to take the DCL bus ($70 per person roundtrip) to the ship at Port Canaveral.
For us, this is the easiest. The DCL people come and get our luggage fairly early in the morning (around 8 or so). Then we get on the DCL bus closer to noon. You'll receive a letter the night before telling you when and where to meet for the bus. We like this scenario best b/c we don't have to lug around our luggage; and, we get the best of both worlds.

Or, some like to stay at the Hyatt in the airport and take the DCL bus.
