NE1 Gone to WDW At Halloween?

Well when we went to WDW it rained most of the time and my daughter whos 8 said she would like to go for her Birthday (Oct 27th) I told her that she wouldnt be able to have a party she said that was fine so we are looking at maybe going back 1 year for her birthday and stay to celebrate Halloween there also but wondering how it is around this time of year, what other fees are there for things going on, etc...

Any help is greatly appreciated

That time of year is excellent. Weather is still quite warm.

Mickey's not so scary Halloween party is a must do. A separate ticket is required
(around $40) but everyone in you group will be able to trick or treat. A great parade with the headless horseman.

Other than that your vacation will be the same as the last one but without as much rain or people.

We were there for Halloween last year and really enjoyed it. In general the crowds weren't bad and the weather was great.

Mickeys not so scary halloween party (mnsshp) is ok. It is an extra fee and only those who've paid the entry fee are permitted to stay in the park. They have a parade, give out candy, characters are in halloween costumes and most rides are open. We went on Halloween night (they have about 8-10 of these leading up to October 31) so it was busier than most other days we went to the parks. Altho busy the lines for rides were fairly short. One word of advice DON'T WAIT IN LINE FOR CANDY they give it out all night and there are plenty of opportunities to do that. My experience was the lines were quite long at the beginning of the night and non existent towards the end of the night .

We go down in the middle of October every year and the weather and crowds have never been a problem for us.

I'd highly recommend MNSSHP as well. The parade is excellent and the Hallowishes fireworks are also great. The later in the month you go the more crowded it seems to be (at least that's been our experience). Last year when we went on the 21st, the MK was far more crowded during the event than it had been all day.

Our whole family (at last count, 11 of us lol) is going to WDW in October 2008 (dates will probably be Oct 18-27, 2008). This thread is great and I'll be following it

October is one of the best times of the year to go IMO.

Not only is there Mickey's not so scary halloween party (nothing better then trick or treating with Mickey) there is also the food and wine festival at Epcot (booths set up with 'tastes' of foods/wines/beers from around the world for not alot of $$) Admission is included in your entrance to Epcot you just pay extra for the samples you elect to try. Not to mention the weather is the best. Not too humid, nice and hot but not too hot.

We're going on September 29 and doing MNSSHP for the very first time. We've gone at the beginning of September but never in October. Also looking forward to the Food and Wine...

For those who have never been to the F&W festival I got a little tip from one of the CMs at Epcot when we were there last year...try to avoid going on the weekend. Apparently a LOT of the locals go on the weekend and the crowds are much heavier than during the week.
