Me, my mom (Helen) and aunt (Patricia). We are thinking about staying at the Marriott Downtown located at 85 West Street at Albany Street
New York, New York 10006 USA

Any suggestions about hotels are welcome. Does amyone have any ideas about what types of excursions will be offered?

Welcome Aboard

Thanks for the warm welcome. We just booked the downtown Marriott. We are coming in 3 days before the cruise to do some sightseeing, shopping and hopefully catch a show. Do you think they will still have pirate night on this cruise?

Welcome one and all.

Just a few more day till we can book our air. Prob go with ERW, hotel near airport then Super shuttle to port, debating on flying out the day we return, prob will.

I am thinking I will like this cruise with these destinations. This cruise will culminate our 4 ships in one year on DCL.

Airport hotel booked for the day before.

I am so happy I don't have to flight for this cruise.

I know...I am so happy about this too. We used to live in FL and just moved to PA this year. We were less than 4 hrs. from Disney and had never flown there until our trip in August. It was quite different constantly having to worry about what would fit in the suitcases. ;)

And the weight of a suitcase, we carry a scale to weigh our bags.

Exactly! You should have seen us shifting stuff around after the last cruise...

I am pretty sure we got our scale from Magellan's, before that we used an old back pack scale I had.

Hi All

I've been active on the cruise meet htread for our January Caribbean cruise - not been here much.

Looks like a pretty good sized group of DISsers for this cruise.

I was wondering - what is the cruise terminal DCL is sailing out of in NY?

Hi Everyone,

My DH (Buck) and I (Suzanne) will be joining you on this cruise. We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express Madison Square Garden the night before the cruise.

My wife and I will be on this one - at least for now. We've got a few cruises between now and then so it will depend on vacation time and budgets but we have a reservation for now. Presently we're on Deck 7 / 7514.

Hope it works out -- will be a great trip. :goodvibes

Bump, any ideas on a hotel before this cruise????
I think we're going to try to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn - Times Square. Would be nice to go and see Book of Mormon again since the O'Neill theater is just around the corner and then go over to the port the next morning.

Just booked my wife and I in at the Hilton Garden Inn @ Times Square for 9/11/12 for one night. I think we will try to fly in early and catch the "Book of Mormon" that night before going to the cruise the next day.

Couldn't believe how expensive it was - $809/nite for the cheapest room. Good thing I used hhonors points. owwwch!
