NCRedding starting fresh journal

:wave2:

That's a good quote. You should post that around different parts of your house, on the fridge, etc where you will see it and it will help motivate you!!!! At least you are coming back here and you are wanting to start over -that's the hardest part!!!!

Just when things look up. My nephew, who lost his dad last July to cancer, lost his baby today. The baby's due date was August 15. Last night they went to the hospital because they hadn't felt the baby move, and found out that the amniotic sac was completely dry and there was no heartbeat. She was induced this morning and delivered at 2:30. There was no obvious problem with the baby, so they are running tests. I keep thinking about my brother, who loved babies. I guess he's holding his first grandson in heaven tonight.

We've had such a bad year.

OMG I'm so sorry to hear this. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

I'm back, and it is time to get serious, for health reasons. So, here we go:

Goals for this weekend:
1. Banish high carb treats that tempt me from my sight in my house.
2. Sign up for Curves
3. Find my walking shoes :confused3 (they were just in my closet)
4. Grocery shop for low-carb items to snack on. In good shape for meals, just the snacks that get me.

I signed up for the August 5 lb. challenge. Will sign up for the exercise one for August also.

Remember: the single most important ingredient for longterm success is not the determination to start, but (also) the ability to start AGAIN.

Good job at starting over - I went through my pantries and my freezers and got rid of all the high carb and high fat items. I felt so much better after I did (thanks to Lesli for the motivation to do it).

You can do this!!!!!

Keep on

I did OK with my weekend goals. I hid the high carb stuff, and planned menus for this week. I found my walking shoes and dusted off my exercise clothes.

Didn't get to Curves as I was late leaving work on Friday and didn't get back in town until after closing time.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner have been a lo-carb success.

Walked for 30 minutes this morning.

Stayed on OP for breakfast, lunch. Cheated a little with dinner, but not awful.

Hi!! Great job on getting in that walking - doesn't it feel great to have "that under your belt" for the day already?

OP for breakfast and lunch. Didn't get my walk in. Overslept as I was up staring at the ceiling from 4 -5:30 am. Should have gone ahead and gotten up, but fell asleep, and then felt miserable when I got up.

I plan to hit the mall this pm to do my walking out of the heat and humidity.

Stayed OP yesterday. Scale continues to show a loss which is motivating when I think about cheating.

Breakfast and lunch have been OP and very delicious.

Need to work on the exercise--plan on walking again today.

Did well OP yesterday.

Walked 2 miles in 34 minutes this am. Stayed OP until 10 pm (chips :rolleyes1 ).

I am getting excited about the 1/2 even though I don't feel as though I am "connecting" with many WISHers this year. Hopefully, sis and sIL will fully committ. If not, I've done it solo before, I certainly can this year.

Walked this am for 35 minutes to my parents and back. Breakfast OP.

Completed week one of Hal Higdon's training for the 1/2. Since his program is 12 weeks and I have 21 til race week, I plan on doing each week twice.

You have done great since I've last been here - good job!!!!! And looks like you are getting some great exercising in - BRAVO!!! Keep up the good work.

Keep on

Yesterday was a BAD day all around. Everything I touched turned to crap!!!

Today will be better.

Ok, so my optimistic post on Wednesday turned out not to be true. Everything on Wed. went bad also. Thursday was OK, but I turned to my old friend, FOOD!! Not a binge, but definitely not OP.

Weekend now--not my best time to stay OP, but I will try.

Hope that things have gotten better.

Keep on

The news of the past week has been so horrifying, I can't believe things that are happening in the United States. I can't imagine the stress and the problems that so many are dealing with on a daily basis.

My own problems seem so insignificant.

I have stayed on Atkins since Monday, with a good amount of loss. I have walked the last two days. I am trying to focus on the good. I am participating in the September weight loss challenge and exercise challenge to keep me going. It was so pleasant today that I walked in the am and the pm.
